Skaters on Team Japan

So many competitions going on this weekend! I'm too busy to come here

I just want to say for now, Ryuju Hino landed a 4T-2T at Iizuka Cup! This calls for a celebration :cheer:

Congratulations to Yuna and Marin and Se Na

looking at the Asian Trophy protocols, it doesnt look good for JGP, if they were seniors i would say there is still time, but JGP is 2 weeks away, i hope its because they didnt want to push themselves for this competition and will be ready for JGP:confused: we didnt see performances though, judges may be strict as well

Everybody had horrible SPs and mediocre LPs it seems. I heard that the rink condition isn't very good so skaters who are used to poor conditions did relatively well (e.g.Mitsuki Sumoto)
Congratulations to Mitsuki. I've never seen him skate, but I look forward to JGP.

Let's go Riona, Kaori and Mai!

Let's go Riona, Kaori and Mai!

i really hope that was the case, feeling better now (kinda), but dont judges check ice and if they dont like it they tell to re-resurface it? maybe its not big competition they didnt care, anyway congratz to Mitsuki! and good luck to lovely senior ladies !! :cheer:

There aren't many Japanese people there on twitter so I've only been able to find 2 reporters but apparently the surface is rough with holes not being filled and the temperature is high so the ice is melting. A lot of skaters are doing badly on their jumps it seems.

wow, can they actually be this ignorant?? yeah its not big international competition but skaters can hurt themselves really bad

Yeah, I'd hate to hear about skaters hurting themselves because of bad ice surface at a competition. I'm now glad that Wakaba withdrew.

Mai wins the competition with 105.08 for FS. Congrats! Happy that she only got a ! on her lutz in the SP and none for her FS. Kaori still flutzes.

its interesting, Riona isnt including 3Lz into her FP (understandably so) but doing 5 jumping passes in 2nd half, and her layback spin got only 0.5 GOE? she has great one, i am convinced that judges are strict , btw any words on her program musics??
anyway, congratz to ladies and hopefully they will have better results at next competitions!
btw,i guess this means Mai has more chance then Riona to get TBD spot for NHK

Mai is going to stay junior and is assigned to JGP in Slovakia I think.
Riona's FS music is apparently "My Fair Lady". I'll have to do some research for her SP music.

ETA: It was easy. Her SP music is "Sakura Sakura". I'm also following 3 other local competitions today and I think Mariko Kihara's SP music has the same title and she's another one who could get the NHK TBD spot.

Thank you for upload! Congratuz ladies!:cheer:
(Yeah, why we can't have detailed information! Japanese media shold focus more on competitions where other skaters than big names appear:frown:.)

Noooooo...they are my two favorite 'forlorn hopes' besides Kozuka. I'm sorry they weren't able to do well. :hopelessness:

Oh, but he came in 1st in the FS.

Hiroaki fell 3 times...

1. Michael Martinez
2. Keiji Tanaka
3. Hiroaki Sato

They still earned themselves a silver and a bronze. Congratulations to the medalists...
