The Finale shows Yuzu has not changed in all this time. Way back in 2011 he was a show off with his jumps and pushing other people into jump battles...even his elders! Everyone dancing to Daisuke's music is so great. I miss Dai!

only thing seems different is he was trying harder to get the attention cause he wasnt this popular and i love how he still continued to dance Dai's program even after others stopped

With this insane steps going in to the 4T :shocked: Choctaw→Mohawk→Bracket→Counter→Three turn→change of edge(cross over?)→Three turn→4T→change of edge→counter→twizzle? Is this Chopin or Seimei 4T?

This steps are in SP. It doesn't matter what he does before quad if it is solo quad or combo as long as he lands good one, then he can throw 3T easily on the end of it

yeah they did XD well, i believe that both of them will be at FaOI next year unless there is some injury etc and this summer Yuzuru brought 2 of his old EX programs back for the 1st half of the tour (before DOI, after that he did his new competition program) thats why i am hopefull it might happen

Watching recent videos of his 3lz from TCC I really think it will be smarter to do 4T3T

His 3lz3t during Olympic season wasn't an issue, yes he leaned on it now and then but not this much. I wonder what happened, is it just because of the timing in Chopin? His 3lz3T in PW at WTT gala was okay too.
Maybe he should change the choreography.

It went worse after he was practicing quad lutz in summer after olympics. I think he said somewhere that this affected him a little but I don't know if it's main issue, because it's bad only in SP and he lands it without problem in FS (besides last on in GPF)

In the LP he has more break before the jumps, and not as difficult transitions (POTO was watered down anyway). I do see that he only has the issue with 3lz3T only in Chopin, so I am not sure keeping it is a good idea. Maybe he should change the choreography of that part.

Yuzuru is so sensitive when it comes to people's sorrow. I can't express in words how much I respect him. These people could feel his kindness and support towards them as well as willing to listen to them so they could give vent to their pain. Sometimes we need to get our hearts melt a little to allow ourselves to live on. The worlds needs more people like him, caring for real. His own experience helped him understand them but still I'm so proud of him. I hope they won't air the crying episode if it's gonna make him uncomfortable. It broke my heart seeing him hold back his tears in front of the camera last year.

According to the article, as I love these his words,

Question to Japanese speakers , How should we translate the word geino-jin (芸能人), if not a celebrity, in English?
It’s a bit difficult for me to convey the detailed nuance.

It's always difficult to translate it actually. I usually use "celebrities" according to the context, but "Geino-jin" does not include sports celebrities, noble family members, those in political circles (?), etc. but includes actors/actresses, comedians, singers, etc. famous in show business. So, IMO, "show business people", "show-biz celebrities", or of that kind, may describe it more correctly.

I also thought this article is a good one. It describes Yuzuru very well.

The interviewee has some interest about each sound which each name has, a Soft sound, a hard sound or so. He was asked about a name with “a soft sound” and right away mentioned, “Hanyu!”. The interviewer agreed with it. “The name, Hanyu surely has a soft sound.”

Written by a volunteer at the disaster-affected area in Iwaki, Fukushima, who was there when Yuzuru visited on 18 June 2015. She wrote about it in twitter on 15 Aug and I have translated most of the content here~

"When Yuzuru-kun visited the temporary housing in Iwaki, I went to be a volunteer from morning. I remember everyone was in smiles because the gold medalist was coming. Just seeing their smiles made me happy. The disaster was more than 4 years ago but Yuzuru-kun made his way here to the affected area; I am writing to carefully convey the feelings.

In the temporary housing, there are many elderly people (grandpas and grandmas); people of that generation are strong in endurance and do not complain. But to Yuzuru-kun, they told everything, that their homes were washed away, that they have no family, that they are all alone, that they want to go home; I was relieved they talked. Yuzuru-kun created the place and the atmosphere where one could talk.

Just because Yuzuru-kun has come, the entire place dazzled and brightened up like flowers had bloomed. All the grandmas clapping with smiles that they never had before this, just seeing this made me break down and my tears could not stop flowing. What was aired on TV is only one part; I wish they had aired the whole thing.

Yuzuru-kun looked at everyone with eyes that were gentle, warm and beautiful, and his words were spoken with great care and kindness. There was a grandma that started crying. Yuzuru-kun went to her side and was crying with her and saying ‘I will come again’. This remains a deep impression in me.

The photo is of a TV guide. Yuzuru will be a guest on NHK's morning variety show called Asaichi on August 28th.

The biggest part is, in this talk, viewers can send fax and email to the broadcast during the program. The fax includes some messages(sometimes hand-written pictures!), questions towards the guest. They pick up some of them in the talk.

This explained the many Japanese tweets with the word FAX in them that I've seen these past days...even Pooh and Vegatta are busy at it .

Remember after the collision at CoC he feared of getting into collision; and during practice at NHK we saw he ducked out of the way (I cannot find the video for this now) and another time he hugged the board.

What I did not realize was at Worlds practice session, the venue of the collision, he ran out of the way when he saw Veronov coming towards him (photos & clip in this blog).

+3 across The board from the judges leads to different additions per element depending on each BV. For example, you get 3 extra points if you get staring +3 on a 3A, but for the spins is only 1.5. Yes, some people write it will be live show, though I cannot confirm the certain souse thereof. Last year, only the residents in Tohoku Region could apply for watching 24H ice show there in Hachinohe. But this year that event has not been heard. The official program just said “Ice show from Fukushima”, so he may use any rink at Fukushima(I don’t know if there’s any rink at Fukushima. ) ?

A couple of Business Insider articles were shared a few months ago about the most dominant athletes in general and promising young athletes and Yuzu was on both of them. And I don't know if this one was shared as well (I have to admit this thread sometimes moves too fast for me to catch up), but it's about the most dominant athletes for every sport, and of course, Yuzu is the one for men's figure skating. Oh right I've heard about it being the side effect of him learning the quad lutz before. But yes somehow it only happens in the SP. I kinda think that has something to do with the steps or entry before the jump because from what I've noticed (been watching some performances of his SP) his posture going into the lutz doesn't look ideal for him to be able to get the right angle (?) for the jump properly, thus resulting in him leaning forward too much and make it harder to land it well.
I hope they'd find a way to fix it.. I'd suggest tweak the steps or transition, as Meoima said, into the jumps.
