2015-16 Russian Test skates

To say the least, I am disappointed with Julia's LP. To return to the elite, she still has a long way to go. As for Lena's "My Heart will Go on", who on earth advised her to pick such shallow piece? She is only a 16-year-old girl... Simply horrible!

Jumps and spins aside, she doesn't seem to be overwhelmed by the music which is a pleasant surprise.

Is she really going to keep the ending part as it is? She would be crashing right into the judges wouldn't she?

Yes I think her interpretation and artistry is truly excellent in this program.

I do hope she'll be able to recover and be healthy. It is a shame that for most skaters, the technical and artistic peaks don't seem to coincide.

Ugh, I guess she did keep the running into the boards ending :drama: Whatever works for her

She got the best camera´s work. Lena should to take note, I suppose her intention is to do something like this.
I love the program and the skating, too bad her jumps are not completly ready. She is what I am looking for watching FS.
And yes, her final pose is not good, very exaggerate.

Per interview, her coach chose Titanic.
I guess one has to listen to one's coach. But this is a nightmare come true. I mean, there are nice pieces of music in the Titanic soundrack, why would one go for those no one can bear to hear anymore? My reaction to this music selection was almost physically painful.

Scheherazade is a great music choice for her, though the layout and choreography of the apartment could be better. Her skating is still frenetic and I don't see much improvement with her jumps/spins/etc.
Nasty comment time: Russian lady skater can't spin like this. Just can't. :hopelessness: :disapp:

Among the ladies, I am very fond of Evgenia's LP. There are several unique choreographic elements are are crafted for this program and the music is just beautiful. It suits her style plus she did all of her jumps.

I think Evegnia is the most artistic of all the Russian ladies. She has a delicacy to her skating that reminds me of the Japanese ladies.

I fully agree, I'm really impressed. I didn't expect that. This was Averbukh, am I right?
She's very consistent, she'll be a force to be reckoned with.

Agree, that FS music is awful, Mariah Bell's sounds even more fantastic now that I've heard this one - Mariah's had some up-beat tones to it which worked well to her style and I think Elena and her coach should have went for something like that. One of the things that makes Elena special and sets her apart is that when she skates she exudes this joy and both her programs this weekend don't seem to do that.
