Alexander Petrov

Ohhhhh.... I must confess I'm a tad disappointed about Finlandia - it seems a popular Senior B, and they seem to be able to gather a nice crowd, and I believe they liked him last year. Oh, well...

At least it's not so long to wait for his next outing, then, something to look forward to. Do you think he'll go "all out" on jumps? I'm doubtful about that...

As a Finnish person (living not too far away from Helsinki) I'm really disappointed about him not coming to finlandia. And yes, we liked him last year :)

Also I would hope for "going all out" but I doubt…

Yes, I too am disappointed that he's not going to Finlandia. For me it was one of the highlights of his season last year. I loved the audience and the organization/conditions were top-notch too. I think he's not going because Liza's schedule changed after she accepted the JO invite.

As for going "all out", well at the test skate in the FS he did: 3T, 3A, 2A-2T / 3Lz, 3F-1L-2S, 3Lz-2T(rippon), 2A, 3Lo

(IIRC the original layout when the program was first completed at Tartu last month was: 4T, 3A, 3A-3T / 3Lz-2T (?), 3F-1L-3S, 3Lz, 3S, 3Lo
But they've changed the layout since then.)

So at Samara I think he will attempt at least: 3T, 3A, 3A-3T / 3Lz, 3F-1L-3S, 3Lz-2T (rippon), 2A, 3Lo.
It's mainly a question of whether he will go for the 4T or not.

Mishin gave an interview about Liza which was published today. He said that after JO she will skate at Coupe de Nice. Chances are very high that we will see Sasha there too. Coupe de Nice (which Sasha won last season) is held from 15th-18th Oct and coincides with Mordovian Ornament. So that rather rules out Mordovian Ornament.

SP score: 74.92(37.87+37.05 no falls)

From the score, it looks like he did not attempt the 4T.
Now begins the long wait for a video!

Apparently this is his actual SP shirt, the one at the test skate it seems was the LP shirt?
3A (clean), 3T (clean, not a popped 4T, planned as 3T), 3Lz -2T (turnout on the lutz, 2T because he can't repeat 3T again)

Edit:
He blew a kiss right before the ending pose. lol

It was 3F... So no doubt he planned 3-3 combo, but didn't perform it because of turnout. I think it's a right decision if he doesn't want to try fully rotate a quad, because it doesn't make any sense to jump solo 3T and he would lose a lot of points jumping 2T instead 3F. Maybe in the FS he will try

I wonder when Mishin will let him go for the 4T. They've changed the layout twice now. Maybe they will keep changing it as he goes through competitions leading up to the GP.

So, I only have one thing to say about the short program... that shirt is terrible. I'm so sorry, but i hate that . Not that big of a deal but still.

the free program is beautiful and the costume is awesome but I'm still waiting for 4T... (and that 3Lo  oh well, mistakes happen for everyone)
