Elizaveta Tuktamysheva

I'll worry when Liza has multiple falls when in GP form and top health.

Meanwhile - the quad. I think that if anyone can do it, it's likely she. However, that is not the reason I think it's a good idea for her to train it now - whether she gets it this season... or ever. No, the reason it's good is because, instead of just worrying about being World Champion, and living up to expectations - this is something that she can work toward - something to challenge her.

I like this reasoning. If motivation is what is needed, a quad might be just the thing.

I thought Adelina had a bigger triple toe than Elizaveta, and more likely to succeed a quad? In any case, it's probably just all talk. Besides getting a stable 3-axel, Eliza had better work on a 3lutz-3toe as well as get better skating skills and spins and improve her overall stamina before training for a quad.
IMHO, Liza is improving steadily in both skating skills and spins compared to last season. Pushing too hard at one time just like Hanyu is not good for her health. Anyway, Mishin is a fairly wise coach, and Liza, a smart student, and such combination can only lead to final victory. No matter whether you like it or not, except Liza, I can't see any other Russian girls will be able to win the 2016 World title . Overhyping some skater is not good for the sport, so it is better to let actual strength speak.

Liza was not on the front page of the Fan Fest forum?!

That is something that needs to be rectified quickly!

Apologies if these photos have been posted somewhere in this thread before. But today was the first time I saw them (thanks to one of my friends "liking" the post)!

Yesterday, a Fan Page for Liza on Facebook posted these really cute photos of her and Evgenia Tarasova!

Zhenya and Liza on the ice

They haven't changed much, have they?!

I get really confused when people refer to Evgenia Tarasova as "Zhenya". There is only one Zhenya for me, and he is the King.

Don't worry, it catches me out that way as well!

Remember the gala at last year's Russian Nationals, when all the skaters were lined up. Somebody posted a comment mentioning "Zhenya". I thought they were talking about Tarasova, and I started talking about her and Vladimir.

And it was only a few weeks later that it dawned on me "Hang on, maybe that comment was about Medvedeva!"

So, yes, it is confusing having so many "Zhenyas" about! And normally, I would be like you and only use the term for Plushenko.

But this time, I just decided to try to get down with the kids!

After all, at least with Plushenko, there is another name we can use where there is no question about who we are talking about:

"The King"

I loooooooove the new FD, especially how she performed it at Japan Open earlier today! I think it's gonna be a blast at the bigger competitions this year! Also I love Grieg so I was dying when I heard she was doing her program to it :D

At first I doubted her FP, when I saw the leaked training version. But oh. my. god. I eat my words and thoughts! Such a progress! I looooove the way she looks, her hair, dress, program itself.. - e.x.c.e.l.l.e.n.t:clap:

Liza looks great in this LP! I watched her failed landing on 3A in slow motion for several times, but I still could not find out why the attempt fell through in the end, for the take-off, jump height and the rotations in the air were all very good. Actually through a slow-motion replay you can see clearly that Mao's 3A at JO was not fully rotated. Ok, it is off the topic a bit.

Hearing that she fell twice, I'll admit I was starting to feel concerned; watching the program allayed most of those fears. The axel might not be completely consistent at this point in the season, but she's gotten full credit for the rotations on each and every attempt -- very impressive.

I liked how much fun Liza seemed to be having, emoting throughout and completely undeterred by that fluke stumble. Hoping she re-adds the loop and would kind of like to see her put that extra turn in before the flip, which looked like it added some stability to the take-off.

The rivalry between her and Liza will be one to watch, if this competition is any indication.

Yes, I agree with what has been said here. Only I liked the LP from the onset - not so much for how it was then, but because I felt it had promise. I think that that promise is beginning to be realised - and that the program will grow throughout the season. I think there is already great progress from how she skated it at the test skates/Samara, and now. In her really connecting to it, and the power she is able to express. Well done, Liza!

Pity about the 3A fall - and the fluke fall, which, I agree was a bit comical as she sort of just sat down. Well, hopefully she's getting these stumbles and fumbles out of the way early, and can improve as the season continues. Go, Liza! :)

On a Shallow Note: May I say that was on good-looking kiss & cry?;) Are there any behind-the-scenes stuff - photos &c - of Team Europe? I'd love to see some of their interaction.:)
