Yuzuru Hanyu: 2015-16 Season

It's Skate Canada. Patrick got a big boost for skating at home. Patrick scored 178 (88 TES and 90 PCS) with a similar (also clean) performance of the same program (also 1 quad and 1 axel, similar BV) at Japan Open last year. I'm quite surprised by the significance of the home inflation at Skate Canada.

I'm very glad to see Yuzuru landed 3 quads in the LP. He did well.

IMO Patrick's performance yesterday was brilliant, so connected with the music and so(and that' s not my usual feeling when I see him skating), and this program was miles away from his performance in JO. I think that he was the just winner yesterday, not a matter of home inflation.
But I really wish that for GPF and Worlds Yuzuru's improvment with Seimei make him the winner ;)

For anyone who is having trouble streaming Yuzu's FS I uploaded a copy I was finally able to save from dailymotion into my google drive. You should be able to stream or download the clip here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B0ghgb8rCrI8U1dzdkV4cm83QzQ/view?usp=sharing

Thank you :agree:

Fun fact by sylessjinx@tumblr "The last and only other time a Japanese skater has landed a quadruple jump 3 times in a program was by Takeshi Honda at the 2003 Four Continents Championships. Nearly 12 years later, the feat was repeated by Yuzuru Hanyu at the 2015 Skate Canada International."

Um...can someone explain to me how Hanyu won TES FS by just a few points when he has 3 quads and 2 axels in his program versus Chan's 1 quad and 1 axel?

GOE probably. His landings weren't up to his usual standard of beauty. But imagine if they were :)

Great job Yuzu, epic fight, nerves of steel!
I loooooveeeee that killer gaze at the end of Seimei!!!!!

This time a ninja Seimei saved a bothcher Chopin, next competition they need to cooperate mutually :laugh2:

GOOO YUZUUUU!!!!:cheer2::cheer2:

I missed both his programs because of work but I'm really glad he pulled through. I was so aware of each passing time today and had to constantly remind myself to focus with work. He did the best he could offer today and I'm so happy to see him smiling.

Just a little more body build up and that 3 quad LP is possible but for now one day at a time Yuzu, one day at a time.

My friend's coach is one of the judges in ice dance at Skate Canada. He said people complaining that Yuzuru isn't as fast as Patrick during free skate are irrational. Because Yuzuru did a much harder layout with three quads and two triple axels while Patrick only did one quad and one triple axel.
The coach said, we can't compare the speed of someone who has put so much energy in all those crazy jumps ro be as fast as he can do with an easier layout.
For sure if Yuzuru has less transitions, and easier jump layout (like Patrick's layout), he would have skated faster.

Lol I can totally see Yuzu wanting to watch a video of one of his performances on YT, but cant find any because Sony blocked all of them...

Yuzu: "why can't I watch a video of my own performances "

Sony need to give a cut of $$$$$$ they making of the album to Yuzu, since he is popularizing this music which is the reason they releasing the album :furious:
