Yulia Lipnitskaya

Ooh, that's a cool fanart!

Re: iconic positions-maybe Sasha Cohen? She had a lot of recognizable signature moves too. But then again, Yulia is pretty much Sasha 2.0 with minor differences in artistic style. :p

I would love Yulia to become like Sasha in that aspect. Not a copy but to fully develop and use her flexibility at best, from an artistic point of view.

Question to my Russian speaking friends. According to my translator I see the following from her Ask.fm

Почему большинство своих фото ты подписываешь эмодзи кошачьих следов?‎
Потому что 🐾
Translator says........
Q:Why are most of your photos you sign Emoji cat tracks?
A: Because 🐾

Is this accurate and is it as funny in Russian as it is in English?

And yes, the meaning is the same. I don't know if it's funny in English, though.

It's funny  At least to me.....I'd post something like that without a doubt  100% Smart A$$ :yay:

Latest photo at Sochi shows that she is happy and enjoying the moment. I think it's a good decision for her as Urmanov does not have too many students and Sochi is far from the media so she is less bothered.

From all I know...he left before she was born and never returned. :furious:

I'm not sure, to be honest..:scratch2: I've come across some info - though I don't remember where - that it's just a tear-jerking version that was invented by some journalist during the Olympics - but that in fact Yulia and her father know each other, though don't see each other often... Though I'm not sure, as I've said, which version is true...

I know this is off topic but im just curious about yulia's father..do they have any communications??

No one knows. The press have conjured up a few versions, but no confirmation from Yulia or her family. Probably a matter best left undisturbed.

 Yes as she said at Ask.fm:

Мне не нужно внутреннее спокойствие, мне нужно душевное равновесие
I do not have inner peace, I need peace of mind. (Google translated correctly?)

in response to a question about her busy life.

Yes, I am quite sure that if Julia ever wants to share anything about her family she'll do so. Till then best not to speculate, I agree with others.

Not exactly word-to-word translation, but it's pretty much what she means:
'I don't need internal calmness, I need internal equilibrium (or balance)'.

I know this is a weird thing to ask but I've always been told that humor is often lost in translation. This is funny in Russian too right? I guess what I'm saying is...do Russians think she is funny? I remember Lenok saying she loved Julia and that she had a very strange sense of humor.

I speak with Russians almost everyday....sometimes they say things that make me laugh but I swear...they don't find any humor in it. :)

Basically yes. I didn't find that funny, honestly. Doesn't mean it is not funny, it is just not funny FOR ME. I was told million times that I have a VERY weird sense of humor. For example, when I'm talking to someone and try to say something funny they don't know if I'm serious or kidding until the last moment. Besides, many people find my words and thoughts funny when I do not intend to be funny. Maybe it's because I'm Russian? We're really weird people, right?

Sometimes when I'm talking to one of our Russian coaches I can't tell if she's kidding until she's smirking at the very end and pinching at my cheeks. I just start laughing but I swear...I thought there was a serious issue going down until the very end there
