On Site Reports: GPF 2015

We arrived in Barcelona just in time to see the men and ladies practice.

This is my very first time at a skating event, so, at the moment, I have to admit that I still feel I'm just dreaming this whole thing.

The view, from anywhere I've been in the stands, is wonderful. The ice seem to be so close, even when you're at the highest seats. Confirms what I had heard about last year, where people where saying that there was no bad seat.

During practice, it's quite difficult to watch everybody at once. There are only 6 people on the ice, but it feels as if there are a lot more XD.
All the skaters are beautiful to me, people practcing their craft at a high level is always a pleasure to watch.

I was a bit too overwhelmed today to take any notes (also, I'm pants at tech, so you'll only get impressions from me, sorry ^_^), but I'll definitely try for the next few days :).

Lovely to be here, it's half past midnight right now, so going back to sleep so we can wake up not too late and hopefullt watch a lot of practice tomorrow morning :).

Yuzuru was there to steal Jin's 4Lz, the way he stole Chan's skating and Mao's 3A. He has a very effective mind hack to "be" another person doing their best stuff. I realized that back in 2010 and knew he was a special learner with great success ahead. I don't know who else he may have stolen from but that's how he gathers all the great skills. He works with a mental Dartfish.

Behind his innocent expression of good-will, he's there to study you. http://45.media.tumblr.com/e50fd7c6c44f66494747813ee2d04532/tumblr_nyl5kh5Jld1rqryl2o1_500.gif :laugh2:

He acquired Javi's 4S, but it took a bit of time.
When he was 12, he showed Arakawa Shizuka how he could do a lay-back Ina Bauer in her honor.

Sorry, off-topic.
Thank you, soososososo much for all the live reports. Have fun everyone. :hap10:

Instagram user michlmint has been posting wonderful clips of so many skaters at practice! https://www.instagram.com/michlmint/

I hope you have a great time. As this is your first event, don't feel pressure to give detailed reports. The programs come one after the other and you don't want to miss a thing while you're writing something down. Relax, stay warm, and take pictures or video that you can review after the event to make a report. :cheer2:

Many, many thanks to all of you who wrote reports for us. I enjoyed them all, whether they were very technical or your general impressions.

Have a wonderful time! It's quite thrilling to see such a high-level event in person, isn't it?!

Hey Guys, do we know what time this event begins for people on the west coast of the US?

Each of the threads about the individual events (e.g. Pairs SP, Men SP) has info about start times and a link to a time zone converter. All credit to the helpful and hard-working dorispulaski! :)

Thank you for the replies. I truly appreciate it. To Doris, I just wanted to let you know that your hard work and dedication to this site has made my life a bit happier for last 2 years.......Thank You So Much....:thank:

To Cherryy and FS_rrb -

Please write and post as many live reports as you can. I can only speak for myself - I love reading all 'live' reports. I already enjoiyed reading all your live reports so far, Cherryy, so please keep them coming. There is such a big difference watching a skater in person than on TV.

Of course, don't get yourself too tired from writing. Do what you can, I enjoy reading your honest analysis from watching the skaters in person.

Thanks again and I am looking forward to your reports from the live competition when it begins.

Thank you both from the bottom of my heart!!!

It's 6.30 am and it's hard to believe that the first skaters are already on the ice! It's too early. *yawn*
