2015-16 Grand Prix Final Pairs Free Skate

men juniors FS

You know, after the boys event I came to think that their splat fest was intentional, and that they were in fact the perfect gentlemen, cleaning up every slippery spot on the ice with their butts to give the ladies a save and comfortable skate. But alas, the pairs seem to prove this theory wrong. :hopelessness:

The funny thing is that after LAST season's NHK, I distinctly remember Dave saying he thinks Yu/Jin have even more potential than Sui/Han. But I think keeping the same programs this season has stagnated them. Y/J delivered last season, the Chinese fed shouldn't have stiffed them.

10000000000% agree. This program, while elegant and quietly beautiful, doesn't exactly produce the same emotions, even when skated clean, as the top pairs. S/B certainly use that against Y/J and pulled ahead. I feel like with this competition two things have been solidified: that Y/J is officially ahead of P/Z, and that S/B is officially ahead of Y/J.

They're playing Let It Go in the background it contrasts from the current mood so much...

they planted their butts there as omens to ruin all the rest today...

Alright let's hope for a turn around in the final group! Go Canadians! :hap10: Love Julianne and Charlie's program

I'm just saying this.Think of all the Chinese pairs who really ended up on top. In almost every case, they start with jaw dropping tricks and pretty mediocre musicality, choreography, etc. Yu/Jin are far more musical, with better basic skating skills at this point in their careers than almost any other Chinese pairs team I can think of. Give them some time and spend some money on decent choreography. I just think they'd be a worthy investment.

I hope this funk in the air clears before the ladies take the ice.

Oh gosh, I will cry if Gracie and Lena melt down! no! It can't be! If somebody skates well, it could break the curse...

Preferably K/S, who have such a bad GPF history. They could break both curses! :dance3:

Disclaimer: kidding, but I do want K/S to do well.

They didn't invest in Y/J though, lol.

that's the point

they didn't invest in them at all! :sad21::scowl: If they had decided to solely focus on their ID team, they should've at least given Y/J at the least a new program to show greater development

edit: okay I'm exaggerating but ugh I just feel sad for them :(

My heart is on my throat now, seriously, and Yuko is even more delicate than Yu...:hopelessness:

I don't get this 'Yuko is delicate' stuff that people like to say. Yuko has been doing quad throws for years and is tough as nails. To the best of my knowledge she's never been seriously injured. She is one of the strongest women out there. She might look tiny, but she's made of steel.

Well, I wouldn't say anything solidifies in figure skating just based on a single competition.

I'm not even going to say anything. I'm not going to cheer. I'm not going to hope. It will be nothing but stoic expressions and snarky comments from me. Too many jinxes are already at play

I am sure the fed is, indeed, spending money on them. In fact I am sure the fed is covering every single one of their expenses and needs, both skating and non skating, and a fair number of their wants.

I usually gently escort out the crickets that come in my house. Maybe I should invite them back in for better luck .
