Erm, actually, the Corrs' version of the piece is just called "Erin Shore". I have the album it is on, "Forgiven, Not Forgotten", and just got it out to double check that I wasn't imagining things.

Ever since I bought the album 20-something years ago, I've wondered why they dropped the "Lough" from the title. For me, "Lough Erin Shore" has more of a ring to it than "Erin Shore".

Nevertheless, it is an absolutely beautiful piece.

By the way, back in 2003, I went to a concert put on by a local church's youth music group (it was more like a mini orchestra), which was made up of people I went to school with (both of the girls I fancied at the time were in it. And both playing cello). And during the concert they performed a song to the music of "Lough Erin Shore". I can only remember the first line of the lyrics, but I loved it. And for ages afterwards, every time I had a spare couple of minutes I would listen to the Corrs' version!

I was dithering about going because I'm not religious. But I am so glad I did. It was really enjoyable, and the music was great. And to cap it all off, I just about managed to get home in time to watch what turned out to be a pretty eventful Brazilian F1 Grand Prix. (The first race win for Italian driver Giancarlo Fisichella, and the final race win for Irish team Jordan GP).

That music group released a CD in 2004, but unfortunately the song based on "Lough Erin Shore" was not on it.

Oh, I am really looking forward to seeing the music skated to!

Actually, if you look at their Unplugged album that came out after their debut album...it's still listed as Lough Erin Shore...I put Lough in parenthesis b/c sometimes they use it and other times they don't. You're talking to one of the longtime biggest fan of The Corrs.
I don't know what version the skater is using but it's still not Erin Shone or whatever was posted above.

Good to find another Corrs fan on here. I absolutely loved them. And I would love to have their music skated to more often.

Mmmm. I wonder if it was a mistake on the part of the record company when "Forgiven, Not Forgotten" was in post production. Because I could never understand why a band that clearly values their culture and heritage would want to change the name of a traditional piece of music.

Have to admit, I didn't check the MTV Unplugged album (I have it too). But, that is probably my favourite album from The Corrs. It really showcases just how good they are when everything is stripped back.

I wish more people would do Unplugged, but I guess a lot are scared that it would expose them as not being as good as the studio can make them appear.

The flipside is that if somebody is good on Unplugged, it can gain them new fans. I became a fan of German band Die Toten Hosen after seeing their performance of "Hier Kommt Alex" on Unplugged. And I actually preferred the Unplugged version of the song to the original version! (I also loved their Unplugged version of The Clash's "Guns Of Brixton").

Anyway, looking forward to seeing the programme from Lara Sundberg / Héctor González Elvira (ESP).
