On one of the Russian forums, they were saying that she didn't look good in practice (I think the interview above mentions this?), but that seems to be the usual cause for Lena: the practice is bad but USUALLY she can pull it together for the actual performance. It sounds like she's pretty confident that this period of growing up/adjusting will pass--I hope she can maintain that optimism and fighting spirit!

So I looked at the numbers, and Lena now has MORE senior Grand Prix medals than any other Russian lady currently competing!
Previously she was tied with Liza and Alena Leonova with 7, but now she has 8 medals!! :agree:

She should totally be proud of that!

Agree, that is such a lovely program for her! I don't quite get the gold cocoonish looking costume she comes out of at the beginning though...someone please enlighten me if they know! And yes, I'd like to know who choreographed it. When I looked through the gala thread, there was some mention of ilya averbukh but I could be wrong.

It looks like it's meant to look like an angel with the wings and - I'm interpreting myself, as a viewer - she's perhaps an angel coming from heaven to save the world with John Lennon's message of hope and peace.

And speaking of GPF, i am so excited!! \(^^)/ Aside from the actual competition, I am anticipating for Japanese media to capture a lot of Lena although they will be very busy since there are a lot of Japanese qualifiers, i believe in their stalking ability(but not too much hehe)

She said that the problems of growth aren't changing Lena's goal, which is to fight at all times and win! :agree:
Unfortunately (?) she said she thinks Lena is going to grow for another season, and said that Lena's growing rapidly now--her LP costume fit fine at Rostelecom, but now, less than one month later, it's already a bit tight.

Just don't grow too tall Lena!!

I actually was stunned by how high her salchow was in the EX...I feel like actually, Lena has gotten a lot stronger/more powerful, and I feel like that is actually throwing her off a bit; she's not used to having such big jumps so she's having some trouble with the landings...

What a quick growth spurt; that'd make any athlete more inconsistent. I do feel like the fall on the loop was almost like a mind lapse, though. It almost looked like she was starting to go for her axel entrance and had a moment of hesitation that proved costly. Jumps looked much prettier in the exo, think she'll grit this season out; she's such a fighter.

I did see her pulling at that dress. It is hard for me to imagine Lena getting much taller, though she might feel out a little more. For a transition year I think she has been doing pretty good. She looked gorgeous in her exhibition. I am real happy i am going to World and forked over cash for an exhibition ticket, which I was tempted to skip. She's holding her own.
