Why are you saying that? She still has a chance to go to Euros and if she does well there they will send her to Worlds.Well, I am sad to say that tomorrow it will be the last time we'll see Liza this season(((
Liza controls her own destiny. If she skates clean tomorrow, it's possible she can still finish 3rd highest among the senior ladies. She has to fight hard!

This. She still definitely has a chance to be named to the European team but she MUST skate totally clean tomorrow, and honestly she probably also needs Julia and Anna to make at least one mistake each- if either goes perfectly clean, unfortunately, she may well be out.
She has to focus on herself and not think about anything else. I think the problem with the SP is mostly mental.

She has a 16 points gap to Med and a gap of 13 points to Rad: seeing that, so far they have shown great consistency, they are unreachable...
The evolved tano-lutz-er Lip with her great spins is 10 points ahead and Pogo the Black-horse 8.
It is almost sure (seeing the scores of today) that one of them will get 120 or more: Liza FP PB this season is just 133.
Turskaya, all the season long, has never had a fall in her FP: she will easily get 130ish. That being said, she will be 3rd,4th o 5th according to Lip's and Pogo's free skate but surely she will be ahead of Liza.
In the luckiest hypothesis Ade and Leo will bomb: a clean Liza will overcome both.
In that case, I give for sure that Sotskova will be ahead of Ade and Leo too.
She has a 3 points gap to Liza but a clean Liza will be ahead of Sotskova.

Polina is too young to go to Euros and they won't send Sotskova to Euros either. Junior Nats is just a few days before Euros so Sotskova very likely won't be able to go.Even finishing 5th will be hardly possible for her

Looking between the Top 2 and Liza you've got one age-ineligible (Tsurskaya), one without senior swag (Sotskova), and an ocean of inconsistent performers. I'm oddly not that worried about her pulling up - maybe I should be, since I already bought my ticket to Boston! - but I do hope she and Mishin reevaluate what worked so well about last season and do more to emulate it, especially where it comes to the SP.

I like and admire Liza a lot but don't follow her closely. Can someone give me a possible explanation of her troubles at the Nationals SP and if there were any indications of her under performance?
Her problems are part mental, part physical. Physical because she did 14 competitions last season and then some shows after that. It took her very long to regain fitness this season. Mental because there's a lot of pressure on her as World Champion and historically when she's been under great pressure and her physical condition is not good, she tends to struggle in the SP. She's struggled in the SP for the most part of this season.
Lip FS is not very strong - she never passes 110 FS score mark, while liza can go into 120s - 130s.
What do you mean?

Well, regardless if Liza will or won't pull up enough to make the Euros/Worlds' teams, she has absolutely nothing to lose, and should go out all guns blazing - which is what I expect she will do; especially as that is what she tends to do in the FS anyway.
Well it's all relative. Lip's SP scores this season went from 62 to 73. We are in an unknown territory as Lip we are seeing here may not be the same Lip we saw at the beginning of the season.

WOW! I love how that dress fits her so perfectly. Like a glove. Love the décolleté also because she doesn't have big boobs and can afford that without looking vulgar. Great shoes too. You go girl.
If she's not gonna wear this at her age when is she gonna do that, when she's 50?
I would say Liz showed her boobs quite a lot, even when she was not so young anymore.

Probably not the same situation at all, but SBS here in Australia is showing highlights of Skate Canada and Liza managed to jump from 7th place in the short to second overall, so fingers and toes crossed you can make an epic comeback today in the Long!

I say this as Yulia fan, I can totally see Liza and Anna win the bronze here. 10 points is big but despite Yulia's great performance on the SP the LP is a different story to handle and it brings more points. So Liza is the favorite here. We just don't know how Yulia will handle the LP. It might be still early for her.
