I will miss Frida. Hope Elena and Ruslan change everything and start anew- both programs, the black, the coaches, the country.

I am so done with RU ID, the drama, the injustice. I took Ruslena scores too personally - to be told that the most difficult program that I like so much is not worth a medal in their own country and is not worth seeing over those other cheesy easy programs.

The message is clear - the creativity, the difference should not be tolerated, the quality doesn't matter and that everything should be decided in advance. Next time they may also inform the pairs in before so they don't put pressure on themselves and don't have any false expectations.

This result is frustrating, but I hope they find the strength to move forward. Like sunn1ly, I hope they will completely revamp their coaching team and packaging. They bring something different to the ice dancing scene and the sport needs people like them.

Ok, Abel korzeniowski has had some of his film scores like W.E. and Romeo and Juliet used lately in figure skating. Well, he has also created a brilliant gothic score for the horror drama TV series Penny Dreadful (one of my current favorite shows) that I think would suite Elena and Ruslan perfectly. The music is haunting and builds at different points and it has this Neo-Victorian vibe that hasn't really been used in ice dance.They could portray Vanessa Ives (formidable and seductive, clairvoyant/medium) and Ethan Chandler (American sharpshooter, moral character with dark secrets). On the show, they join up to defeat these evil forces and there maybe some romance (don't want to spoil too much if you haven't seen the show), and I think that's something they could depict in a 4 minute span and get viewers entwined in their performance and story. The show has beautiful costumes that they could copy or use for inspiration, and therefore better FD costumes compared to this year. This year I rated their styling/costumes at a C-/D this season.

i was just thinking about how i'd love it if they'd do something dark & dramatic or even gothic. love your suggestion tex, you should seriously consider submitting it to their team

I don't think it's exactly like this. Ruslena have many strengths but they are not perfect yet and this year their programs, though intricate, had weaknesses. The programs were not well received, well, not received as well as we would have wanted and not just in Russia.

Good luck to them next year. I am sure they'll have a better season next year.

I have to agree with you.
And I was a little disapointed that they didn't have a real exhibition program this season (I would have loved if they would have done Carmen as an ex, or anything new). They are still a new team so maybe it will be good for them to get the time they need now in the long term. And they can keep Frida for next season, they just have to give the program the polish it needs. I don't think that their team is the problem, I think the problem is that they just didn't have enough time for all the little things they have to do, because they want to do intricate, difficult programs.

I totally agree, they can be scorching hot when they want to, but after this year's rock waltz, I'm afraid they are going to come up with another creative idea and they are going to dance their blues to heavy metal

I like the length of the dress, usually her dresses are a little bit too long, but I agree that she could dial down the black and add more color.
