Elena Radionova

Latest interview with Lena!
http://rsport.ru/figure_skating/20160114/889698995.html

She says she's not changing anything in her programs before Euros. Her training routine is the same, she's keeping the same costumes, and she's the same height as she was at Nationals.

Separately, more of Lena's past Periscope videos have been posted here:

Those eyelashes!!

Elena is such a wonderful person. :) She knows how to face reality in competitions, and as the article said, she is such a fierce competitor. I knew that she tends to get sick more than other skaters, but I had no idea that she was sick at Nationals, where she did two clean programs. I love her fighting spirit!

Regarding her LP dress, I really loved the current dress she is using right now, but if it's too tight, than that's a big problem. I'm crossing my fingers for the new dress to be good! I'll be cheering for her at Euros! :cheer::party2:

Even Eteri has to smile at the overwhelming adorableness of Lena!  The guy on the right looks like he's smiling too.

Masha Sotskova says that Lena has the best Biellmann spin! :agree:

And here's a really long Japanese interview with Lena (conducted during CoC and GPF):
http://web.canon.jp/event/skating/interview/int_radionova01_1.html

I will try to translate it sometime, but click on the link--there's a little video with Lena. She says (according to the Japanese subtitles) "Hi everyone! Hi to all the fans in Japan. You are very precious to me, and I love you all. Thank you for always cheering for me." :luv17:

Lena was training at Novogorsk today!

She posted a photo from the dorm!

I guess she's training there while Inna Goncharenko is at Junior Nationals with Liza Yuschenko?

Had to come here to feel better after watching US Ladies short.

Aww, I am American, but I'm not really fans of the US ladies at all... Or any of the American skaters, in general. This is going to be tough rooting along with the home crowd in Boston... :slink:

But speaking of US Nationals, Lena is there!! Or rather, her picture is! Apparently there is a Riedell booth in the arena, and they have brochures with Lena's photo in them. :agree: (According to a Russian fan who is at Nat'ls.)

You came to the right place. Lena stuff always helps when one is feeling down

Totally agree! :agree:

So Florent Amodio posted a picture of Lena--why is he at Novogorsk??

I almost freak out hahahaha ~~

I feel you with rooting for national skaters. Althou I really dont care about the nationality of my idols (but all my idols happened to come from the same countries haha) but sometimes, i feel awkward when people around me ask me why i am not watching 'our' skaters....

I have to cheer for my US skaters, even if I am not 100% in love with them. I am going to Worlds and will hope for a medal from one of them. Have too! I actually cheer for everyone when I am at an event because I hate watching on tv when audiences largely only cheer for their skaters. I think it is rude to the other skaters.

Ooops, I forgot that I LOVE the Shibs! And not just because they take fun photos and vids with Lena!

So I kept meaning to post this earlier, but I noticed that Lena R. now has more Instagram followers than Lena I.
Obviously the ladies who went to the Olympics (Adelina and Yulia) have more followers, but Lena has more than all the other ladies!! :agree:

And total random find. Someone made a quilt with Lena in her Zombie EX costume!

Man, I wish I was so artsy. I kinda feel like I should make a banner for Worlds or something, or some nice gift (Lena says she likes teddy bears wearing her costumes), but I am totally not good at that kind of stuff... :slink:

This is true. I shall endeavor to cheer for everyone (but maybe some more than others).
I already have a Russian team jacket, which I'm planning to wear. I think I might get a Japanese flag too!

Go for it! Personally, I love Lena, but will not be putting on a Russian team jacket. I don't really do the flag thing, not even the US flag. When I was at SA this year there was a couple in front of me that had jackets with a pattern of the US flag and seemed to be carrying a flag for pretty much every country represented in the event. They kept pulling out the different flags and it cracked me up. The only flag I did not see them with was a Russian flag.

Honestly, I hope Lena wins Worlds. Last year I was torn because Liza pulled me in, but I am not really a fan of Lena's two teammates' skating this year. I don't dislike them, just not in love with them.

Hmm, I'm a bit torn. Of course, the Elena-uber in me wants her to win EVERYTHING ALL THE TIME, but on the other hand, given that I really want her to win the Olympic gold, perhaps not winning this year will push her to work more on her posture and gracefulness AND make her choose better programs. Also, I think it will be tough for her to beat Zhenya unless she makes mistakes, and the same for Gracie.

That being said, Lena has the power to win the crowd, and if she can generate a huge standing ovation--more than for the other skaters--then she just might be able to do it.
