Max Aaron

*sitting in quietly happy glow*

Our dear SnuggleBat.

Not as good, for mine, as Skate America; the landings were just a little tighter. But it was good enough, and it was what he wanted, and I'm so glad.

Recommended viewing for Max A fans is the Social Scene interview with Maddie + Max S:

First and foremost, Maddie + Max S are adorable partners :luv17:.
(I just wish that the well-meaning Michael Buckley had not been clueless that the artwork of Max S is well-known to skating fans.)

Plus we learn that Max A is not the only Aaron who likes reality television. Must be a genetic ;) weakness .

And Maddie gives us some funny  glimpses into family life (past and present) with brother Max.

Congratulations to Max :dance2:.
Glad that he got the job done even with the pressure of being a frontrunner.
Go get 'em in the free skate :yay:.

Really a privilege watching the greatness and determination of @maxtaaron tonight. So strong and he's worked so hard. Bravo. Congratulations to him and his team.

One of the many reasons to love Ashley: she calls 'em as she sees 'em .

I feel robbed that we didn't get the video of baby Max in a tutu. Also somehow I can picture Max carefully scrubbing his pots and pans!

Glad to hear Max S is being paid for commissions now! His talent is so great  I hope he does the mini Champs again...the mini Jason on my computer at work could use some company.

EDIT:

Found a youtube version of Max's SP. Japanese commentary. My Japanese is rusty, but I still remember the word "subarashii", which they use right after the 4S-3T - it means wonderful!

Just watched Max's SP on icenetwork (my apologies for posting again if someone else has done it). Overall, very nice job. Max deserves a lot of kudos for being a favorite and being able to mentally perform a nice SP so far - unlike what happened with S/K in pairs and with Ashley & Gracie in ladies.

I really hope that for the next off-season, that Max works on his flying entrances into his spins and his camel spin positions. I'm glad he got Level 4s, but he has the ability to get a higher GOE on them. But I'm also a :luv17: for a man who has nice spins.

Thx, karne :).

And thx to you, musicfan :).
I had posted the IN link in the videos thread, but forgot to post it over here, so I'm glad that you did.
I agree that it's terrific that Max kept his wits about him and did not lose focus.
An encouraging sign that he'll be able to do the same in the FS :yay:.

Thx to sabinfire for the videos from the NBC evening broadcast on Jan 23:

Oh my god you guys, that fluff piece gave me so many EMOTIONS I can't even handle them properly

HE WAS HAVING NIGHTMARES AFTER SOCHI wait a sec I need to pick up all the pieces of my shattered heart oh my god :sad21:

He's so - brutually - honest about his limitations and his failures and OH MY GOD CAN I JUST HUG HIM PLEASE.

I will be really rooting for Max today. Unfortunately I have a commitment and can't watch live but I'll be thinking about him and hoping for only the best :cheer:

The haters are gonna hate but I'm really proud of and happy for Max and how he did today! I obviously would have preferred a first place finish but he's the rightful champion in my heart and I am sure he won't be bumped from the World team so I'm happy for now.

Max was robbed so hard today that his grandchildren will still be paying the bill.

USFSA should be ashamed.

We don't have have a heartbroken emoticon.

I need it. Lots of times.

I think Max should have won overall, but there are still two more months into this season. I just hope the U.S. men do well enough in Boston to keep three spots. Because Japan will probably get their third spot back and it will be that much more harder to get the 3rd spot back in 2017 if the U.S. loses it this year.

Extremely proud of Max. He was under a lot of pressure, and he skated very impressively.

And win or lose, Max's sportsmanship is a joy to behold. Although he naturally wanted to win, I think he absolutely sincerely is happy for his friend Adam.

I hope Max gets a LOT of love at the gala tonight. He deserves it. :ghug:

Yeah, I am so proud of Max in how well he skated and his attitude. I can't imagine how disappointed he must have been.

Just looked at Max's wikipedia - his exhibition is apparently to ACDC's Thunderstuck. That. is. just. awesome. :agree:  :yay:

There's a nice video from Skate America somewhere in this thread.

I just can't, you guys. I can't stop crying.

It's odd... I was thinking when watching Max skate his FP that I had a really good feeling about him. And then he performed so well, I thought he had won...
@karne - I'm so sorry...

Also, I was thinking that since he likes that type of music, maybe this Two Steps piece would be a good fit for him:

Allegro Agitato

I've wondered if Max really likes opera and Broadway, would it work well if he did music to a more comedic program, like doing Puck in A Midsummer Night's Dream or Don Juan.
