2016 Team Challenge Cup - Gen Info/Pre-chat

Don't they have to be from different countries, ie no Ashley if we already have Gracie, or am I wrong?
Not for the fan vote, IIRC.

If we're campaigning, here are my votes:

NA: Max Aaron and Alaine Chartrand
Europe: Elena Radionova and IDK
Asia: Shoma Uno and Mao Asada or Rika Hongo (kinda leaning towards Rika because she's less likely to bomb :slink:)

Kind of irrelevant if it comes down to a fan vote for the US men. No way does Max win a fan vote against Rippon or Chen.

It's not a fan vote for the US men, it's a fan vote for the North American men.
It would be interesting to see how a fan vote of Patrick vs Nathan vs Adam.

In this case, I can't agree with karne, my fellow Max fan :ghug:.
I think Max could hold his own in a fan vote against Adam or Nathan.
Plus we don't know whether fans can place multiple votes.

But ... let's not get ahead of ourselves.
We do not even know who Kristi will nominate. Her options are Patrick, Liam, Max, Nathan, and Adam.
She is free to nominate fewer than all five.

Plus everyone's results at Worlds  could affect their fan support during the voting period.

Layback is correct.

I wonder if she needs to check with the skaters before the nomination process. It's an invitational event. Skaters have the choice to decline the invitation.

The vote could turn out to be as interesting as the skating competition. :)

I think Max would beat Adam handily in a popularity contest. Sorry, Adam. But who knows whether Chen is building up a fan club --especially after Nationals -- among the most likely voters, teenagers.

Delete your cookies, use a proxy if necessary and the sky's the limit. ;)

Did i read wrong, or did they change the wording so that now it says that the organizing federation (rather than the team captain) now makes the selection. Anyway, I don't see any reason why they would not nominate all five, if all five expressed an interest in being on the ballot.

Are there more likely voters in U.S. or in Canada? Will U.S. voters gang up and leave out the obvious choice, Chan?

Karne, Karne, Karne. Everybody loves Max. At least, Golden Skate does. Come on, now -- what's not to like?

Team Asia
Men: Yuzuru Hanyu (JPN), Denis Ten (KAZ), 3rd skater TBD
Misha Misha Misha:hap10::hap10:
I need to start a campaign for him
(Uno probs will win tho)

Can I ask the third skater get the vote world wide or just from a certain area of the world?

I want both! :shock2: Shoma is so tiny, he doesn't count!

Seriously, Yuzu+Denis+Misha+Shoma could be so hilarious - I'd feel bad for Shoma, but it would be hilarious. Since I can't have both, I'd root for Misha too though. He's made for these team events! :cheer:

World wide.

I think the main thing that the organizers want is to bring in the skaters that the U.S. audience wants to see.

So, if the fan vote is anyone at worlds, the ladies options would be:

NA: Alaine Chartrand, Ashley Wagner, Polina Edmunds

Europe: Elena Radionova, Anna Pogorilaya, Evgenia Medvedeva, Mae Bereniece Meite, Laurine Lecavelier?, Nicole Rajicova, Angelina Kučvalska, probably some more I don't remember?

Asia: Mao Asada, Rika Hongo, Zijun Li, So-Youn Park, Da-Bin Choi

Interesting...the most likely winners of that would probably be Ashley, Elena or Evgenia, and Mao, but who knows?

Also, is there a fan vote for non-singles?

That's so funny. Gracie just wins Nationals and Ashley can barely squeak out a bronze and all of a sudden she's representing the US in the team challenge. My what fickle fans.

No fan vote for those outside singles, unfortunately

Without Elena or Evgenya team Europe will be a joke same as the whole ladies event.
