I really miss yuna ... when she was competing, she held the overscoring in check because every federation somewhat agreed she was the best/ could not ignore her.

Anyone remember the 2012 season when yuna wasn't competing? when Caro won her first world championship? Scores got super inflated with ladies because UR, Flutzes, Lippes weren't called as such. Also, PCS were given out like candy. When in 2013 yuna returned, the scoring returned to normal. I have no idea why yuna competing had such an impact on how jugdes were scoring, but apparently it did ... Anyone has a logic reasoning for that?

I think that's because they have someone to compare the others to. When you have someone who's great at almost everything, competing at the same competition the others are in, you can really see the stark difference right then and there. Yuna's deep edge 3Lz puts others' lutzes and flutzes to shame. Even Tuk's real Lutz, while also good, does not cover much ice.

So I painted something and used Yuna's face as basis. Although I tweaked it a little so it won't look like her so much because it's not supposed to be a fan art. But my friend referred to it as Yuna painting so I decided to share this painting and its story here. :luv17:

I'm such a big fan of Yuna as an athlete and person that I almost always use her as a model when I paint. Haha.

The thing about Yuna is that when she's in the competition, she puts other skaters in their rightful places. Like during that year & a half hiatus that she had where every other top skater were getting the gold medal in major competitions, and average skaters were getting to the podium. But when she returned, she shoots right back to where she belongs--on top of the podium, one competition after another. This made other skaters realize where exactly they place after Yuna, and what skating level they're at after Yuna.

What a crude and untrue thing to say. She didn't put anyone 'in their place'. There is no entitlement in figure skating. Every elite skater is already aware of their strengths and weaknesses but they all have the right to succeed. If an 'average' skater performs a worthy program then they deserve a medal, and we had many wonderful performances in the 2011-2013 seasons.
 
I just realized, Yuna was the only one who landed 3Lz+3T in 2010 Olympics FS. :dance2:

I really like the video quality put up by IOC, something about the images is different from other videos, even compare to 1024 HD 60f videos uploaded by others. the IOC video is not the highest HD, but it has a pleasant feel .
I really love the Adios Nonino uploaded by IOC, due to this special visual effect, only if it has no commentary, then I will watch it nonstop..
I hope that IOC can upload Yuna's Adios Nonino (again) and SITC (please, can fans plea to IOC to upload?) with NO commentary and NO glitch (the glitch during the beginning of Yuna's Adios spiral sequence).
Hopefully, some of our super talented Yuna fans can figure out what effect IOC did to make their videos so pleasant (maybe some special visual effect optimized for sports?).
 
Can some super-talented Yuna fans, download Yuna's OG performances from IOC channel, 3 of them and including SITC and swap Adios sound track with no commentary (and fix that little glitch by edit some clip from NBC)and make a montage of Yuna's OG performances. and uploaded somewhere.
it is wonderful to watch Yuna's 4 clean OG performances parted by 4 years together. as a true Yuna fan, you will see her growth/heart/emotion, really everything is left on the OG ice, no commentary needed. people are disgusted by the corruption, but the ice and Yuna's performance will remain the purist ever, the true OG spirit.

At last? I've had all recordings for years now. And by that I mean Canadian, American, British, Korean, etc, High Def, Medium Def, commentary, non commentary. Kind of surprised to hear some people had problems finding them unless the ones I watched eventually got deleted but even then I often trip over them when visiting Youtube. :shrug:
