Random intrusion but I just got back from Japan after a two week long vacation in tokyo and the kansai region and just wanted to note some Yuzuru/figure skating related things I sort of wanted to retell my observations to people who would care (unlike my friends lol).

There was a couple of Yuzuru ads in the Tokyo metro system as well as one on a bus when I was on my way to Hakone.

I’m a Tokyo person. When I’m walking tired or depressed and I sometimes come across his photos. That makes my heart bright and happy. I think some businessperson, students, etc. living in the city are the same. His posters comfort us so much.:)

That's great Hamaguri that Yuzu's photos on ads make people happy. See they took the video/photo of the ads at Shibuya crossing, one more, huge Yuzuru Method poster at a book store and many more.
I wonder whether the huge screen at Shibuya crossing can be seen from the Starbuck across the street? I would have buy a latte and sit there and grinning away when his ads comes up :biggrin:.

It just hit me that, in a week's time, we will already know how Yuzuru did on his SP...Can I start freaking out already? :dbana:
 
I am already jittery for a week, my husband is saying he is praying for Yuzu to win, or he might move to his parents house until I calm down :palmf: please Yuzu please :bow:

A lot of my family is looking forward to seeing Yuzu on TV as we'll all watch the Championships together. -And the other half wants it to be over quickly so that we'll stop pacing around like crazy people. :laugh:
 
I freaking out-ness has come to the point that when he approach quad I have to close my eyes or change to different browser. I think we all need a good vibe until free skate is done.

Thank you for sharing, alia! I’ve not yet been to Shibuya and come across the Yuzuru Method photo. They are really impressive and we can feel the huge aura through screen. :love:

What I’ve seen about Worlds 2016 is here. http://ameblo.jp/yuzu-no1-love/image-12141500284-13597893411.html (at Yurakucho Marion, Ginza). It’s just biiiiiiiiiiiiig! Not only this, some ads have tremendous size. However, you know his shape is perfect, and we never bore to watch!:hap85:

I don’t know now if we can see the screen of yuzu from the Starbacks there, but if we can, it would be sweet than chocolate cake and drinking a late watching it is a wonderful moment! (the film is strong and handsome yuzu as an athlete though, may not be so sweet:biggrin:)

Seems like our lord and savior Ms Kobyashi appeared saying he is healthy and fine.

Kobayashi also answered the question about rink size issue , as it is smaller compared to Japan
She said the skaters knew of this issue and are well-prepared for it. " they used cones for practice."

I never knew this is possible. I thought all rinks are standard size, at least those which are designated as ISU competition venues, like tennis or football (soccer for Americans).

Excuse me! (giggles) We have been waiting for this since GPF. And now it is only less than a week away and you want to sun to rise and set slower?

(Pushing hamaguri as a sacrifice to the Boston Ice Rink Monster so that Yuzu does not fall)

I was basically playing an extended game of "find the figure skater" with my boyfriend where ever we would go. I even spotted Nobu's ad in Shibuya! Also, Mao Asada is literally everywhere. I don't remember where I saw this but there was some sort of disagreement with the popularity of Mao vs. Yuzu and after visiting cities like Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto, I saw Mao's face everywhere. I wandered into a couple of the shopping areas and even though Mao is the queen of advertisements and commercials, Yuzuru's face was literally on 80 percent of the sports magazine in any of the bookstores I visited. I would wander over to the sports area and it would be like Yuzu yuzu yuzu baseball yuzu.

Random but if you guys ever have questions about traveling to Japan as a foreigner, I'm your girl! Also super excited to see the Yuzuru, Mao and the rest of Team Japan next week at Worlds!

Were Mao's photos more of photo-shoot type and Yuzu's more of those taken during competition?

Possibly Mao had one year off from competition the season before this and her agent must be like: Okay advertisers, whatever you want to sell or those that you want to sell in the next few years, this is the time to get Mao to do photo shoot.

While Yuzu's agent: Sorry can't do this, can't do that. He is only in Japan for a few weeks.
