Guys, just want to clarify something. Just watched Yuzu's interview where he says "After performance I thought, 'Have you seen this??' 'yess!!'" and furthermore, he adds "mitaka, conoyaro!" I've seen some Japanese people say it's a very rude word and Yuzu shouldn't have said it publicly. Can someone clarify what "conoyaro" means and what Yuzu wanted to express with it/directed it to whom? Thank you.

He just can't catch a break huh ¿? :shock2:
edit: Oh I don't take your post in a wrong way :), it's just that it's been a long day of reading mean things about him that I'm just tired , don't apologize it's fine.

I'm sorry if I offended somebody with this, I shouldn't have written it I think. Yuzu deserves support and only support now, so people shouldn't criticise him for nothing.
He used that word to himself, as a way of expressing "guy! I did it!" He use the word "kono yaro" for himself.
It's not that important. I talked to myself too and I also use some words to address myself that way. It's normal. He was just venting out the frustration and pressure he put on himself.

Thank you for the clarification and for satisfying my curiosity on this. I'll use this word from now on, too:biggrin:

Many people are criticizing him by making assumptions and speculations on information that is not verified. Not everything people found online or in the press is true. Some newspapers or web media are tabloid. They don't necessarily verify the facts.

yes, I'm just going to forget about it, if people want to talk then they can, I'll focus on what's important (Yuzuru's free ;))

I know what you mean! It's like his image has been so clean that one mistake is enough to get the pitch forks coming....
Hope he rebounds from his most recent practice and skate a free program that leaves him happy :hap10:

Don't worry too much about it. Yuzu is known to use 'less savory' language/words during interviews with more laid-back interviewers. And Japanese 'unsavory' criteria may be entirely different.

Conventional Western criteria
Savoury: I hate this.
Unsavoury: &^*&##$%

Japanese criteria
Savoury: I permit myself a chuckle.
Unsavoury: I laughed too loudly.

Exactly, all I want is to see him happy after his performance :yes2:

So what's wrong with 'kono yaro'. Is it because he did not use the polite 'I' like watashi or what?

Yuzuru is famous for being very class-act and even "ideal" role model for everyone. So when he acts like a human, not like an angel Yuzuruel, some people freaken out. That proves how high he's set up the standart.
I remember the same happened when he changed coaches. So much complaint over nothing.

Well "Kono Yaro" is used when you are pissed of at someone. or it can be used in a manner between friends. The meaning comes from the context and in which way you speak the words. A direct translation is "this person", but in a non polite way.

Yuzu Describes the other top skaters this year with the first thing that comes to mind.

Fenandez: Soft. The softness of his knee when landing the 4S, The atmosphere he can generate, especially his interpretation of comical music, that comes to my mind right now. ...Because we are training together, I knew he could get 300 points.

Chan: Strong. His skates with such a sound! 'Gooooo' (rumbling sound) The way he uses his edges, the bend and extension of his knees, he goes with a strength only he has. If someone said 'skate like Patrick' I could do it, for about 20-30 seconds. But for him on top of the quads and with the axels and triple triples, he skates like that till the end of the program, he has that strength. The feeling that he rules the skates in terms of skating quality.

Shoma: Hmmm...intelligent. He is steady. Probably, mind you, if you compared the time that I spent skating and Shoma spent skating, all added up from the time we started, Shoma might have skated longer. The time spent skating. He has trained that much. And has developed a style and I respect that about him. Something that I could never do.

Jin: Ferocious. (or energetic) He really has his own style, and he has not lost his feel for quad jumps. Boyang's Boyang performance, has such energy in it I really like it.
