I feel so bad for you. Would it help to offer you a?
Maybe you can take comfort in the fact that you got to see him at all. You didn't get to see one of the great performances, but you got to see him live. I remember after I saw him only in practice for the first time, there's just so many little things you appreciate way more after you've seen them in person.
It's easy for me to talk, I knowI'm really sorry you didn't get to see him on a better day.
I decided the same, Alia! May it happen for us both, and for all who want to go to a competition!A few pages back Cheerinhanson (spelling) wrote how she is so very happy to have seen Yuzu live even though he had a rough skate. I've make a decision to attend a competition next season, and must be the one that we can see the practice. I would love to see Yuzu in practice.
oh trust me :luv17: you wouldI would love to see Yuzu in practice.

But it happened the second year in a row. What did he learn? This year he was in the best form ever and it was his best chance. The next time he maybe won't be in such a good shape. And he didn't look that happy with the silver medal.
Did he ever visit a sport psychologist? Maybe he should try it.
yeah. He said it was a bit difficult to take care of two atheletes at the same time.Did Brian say that he realized that Yuzu was a bit off before SP, but he has to take care of two athletes and he was able to deal with Yuzu's mental in time?

I'm honestly worried now. Sorry but I have to say this, Yuzuru is very emotional, so he needs some psychological support and I am afraid Brian doesn't have enough time for him. Brian has done all the best he can. But Yuzuru needs more than thus a few comforting words. His mentality was totally off in the free and all his coach says is "it's difficult to take care of two athletes at the same time". Does Brian even know what happened to Yuzuru's mentality?yeah. He said it was a bit difficult to take care of two atheletes at the same time.
not only that, he didn't really support him with the Ten incident. I'm sure he wanted Yuzu to calm down but when you defend your other athlete(he said Brian had the same problem in that warm up but he was more cool about it) and you underestimate the feelings of Yuzury,it's not very wise, it's not supportive,he should have shown more understanding imo..
In his own words Yuzu is very intense and emotional and he's still a mystery for his coach, he doesn't get him very much.
Brian acted like a perfect PR specialist. He didn't blame Den saying he was guilty or Yuzu was right, he knew the people wouldn't swallow that. They'd blame Yuzu and his team for unbased accusation. His comment was way more successful than Carroll's one. He showed calmness, control and admitted that yes, that was Yuzu's mistake but he'll understand and overcome it. Nothing serious.
I think Brian has done the best he can but Yuzuru needs more than that. I'm the kind who wants Yuzuru to stay at CC for long because they have good training environment and facilities and he needs to be in a stable place. However they should consider the thought of sending Yuzuru to a sport psychologist weekly (if he hasn't been sent to some kind of therapy). Yuzuru's mentality was very unstable for the whole week and he got angry so easily. That is very dangerous when you need to calm down your mind in the biggest competition of the season. Something happened to his mind and there should have been a way to deal with it.not only that, he didn't really support him with the Ten incident. I'm sure he wanted Yuzu to calm down but when you defend your other athlete(he said Brian had the same problem in that warm up but he was more cool about it) and you underestimate the feelings of Yuzury,it's not very wise, it's not supportive,he should have shown more understanding imo..

I don't get at all this negative and anxious feelings some people in this thread are having. Oo
did he have to compare him with Javier? do you think that's wise?
"He was angry, and I don't see him angry that often," Orser said. "I told him, 'You just need to breathe. You need to let it go. We have to move on.' He's too good to let that kind of stuff bother him."
so far so good and then:
Orser noted his other student, defending world champion Javier Fernández, had a similar problem in the same practice session with a skater other than Ten. The easygoing Spaniard shrugged it off.
"Javi is just less emotional than Yuzu," he said.
i mean, if Yuzury is very sentimental, and he was very angry at that moment, that's not the way to give him comfort, i think..

My opinion will be probably be pretty worthless seeing as I'm mainly a lurker. However, I find this seemingly mass reaction to an 'unexpected' result disconcerting.
I don't think Yuzu bombed, he didn't do his best but he didn't fall all over the place, which he could have done if he had completely lost his focus. He didn't perform his best, and he has already identified what he needs to work on in order to try and strengthen that area (his mental state). I think he's completely switched on for someone his age, and incredibly self aware.
But if we do not have any mistakes in life then we do not learn from them and we do not grow character or strength.
What seems lost in this is that he is only young, and as fans we should not be adding to the pressure he undoubtedly feels. I don't want him to apologise for this result, I want him to sit down with himself and then his team and work on what he is dissatisfied with. As fans we should support him whatever his result and not resort to 'backseat' coaching/mothering. None of us know him personally, we don't know the exact circumstances or constraints placed on his life. It's lashing out when being unable to deal with the disappointment and as I've seen described 'embarrassment' of his result. Whilst he has dealt with his personal disappointment with grace, dignity and a mature attitude, sadly it seems some of his fanbase have not.
Seeing all of this finger pointing and blaming over a SILVER MEDAL seems absurd. Who cares if he doesn't win another medal in his life so long as he is happy, healthy and is performing beautiful routines with or without falls. It's times like these that I think he's entirely sensible not having a social media presence.
