2016 Team Challenge Cup - Gen Info/Pre-chat

EWWWW Are you serious??

The staff blamed the construction next door for the mice. I started to name them. Hakim was in the balcony, Dudley and Hillary were down stairs. There was lots of food that had fallen between the cracks of the temperary seats to the arena floor for them.
That arena needs some cats and owls!

Ugh, I didn't notice. Some of the subways were really dirty, so not that surprising really.

Well to bring it back to topic -- Spokane doesn't have a rodent problem. At least as far as I know...

I have never seen a mouse in any arena I have ever been in till now. The ironic thing was that on the local news, they shut down a supermarket for one dead mouse and some mouse droppings. In the arena, they had to cover the condiment dispensors with cellophane to keep the rodents from eating/drinking out of them and leaving their droppings on the food prep surfaces.....I was waiting for a mouse to cross the ice when a skater was on the ice. Did the vids show the person who threw the big white envelope on the ice while the bearded male skater was warming up for his short and he skated backwards right over it and fell?

Maybe Jason can lift Mariah's SP to Roxie? ;)

I don't care what it is, as long as he is skating it....

Poor Ivan Righini. Some fright, but some comeback to skate a brilliant short programme!

Who else think it's disrespectful to skaters to drag in time anouncement who will compete? Looks like "soon" might be as well in a week :noshake:

What the heck is the difference between a ground squirrel and a regular squirrel? FWIW: I love squirrels. Where I grew up they were everywhere and we loved them. We had black, grey, and reddish ones pretty much anywhere you went and they were all types of fat.

^^ Yeah, I'm wondering what they did with visas. Can they prepare visas without knowing whether they'll compete or not?? :scratch2:

:laugh2: At first, I thought what a cute story it must be; a squirrel needs its visa to enter another country...and I read the two posts wrong.

Ground squirrels live on the ground and nest in underground burrows. Regular squirrels live and nest in trees. :)

If Rika made it to the team, I hope she and Jason can do a Riverdance collab during the gala

Yes I don't really see what the hold up is-- do they really believe voter fraud occurred on a mass scale over the Team Challenge Cup of all things? And how long can this realistically take to check for? I don't know if I'd call it disrespectful, but very odd? Absolutely.

They have to confirm with the skaters that they are going to attend, so that might be part of the hold up. Not making a public announcement yet doesn't necessarily mean that the skaters are being strung along without any updates.

At this point Team Challenge Cup should be paying us to watch.

 As usual I think the price point is too high for one competition... I've been saying this pretty consistently but I think the powers that be do not have a realistic idea of what the average person will pay to watch one (non top level) competition. Sometimes they even charge more than what it would cost to buy tickets to see the event in person (though that's certainly not the case here). Compounding this problem is the fact that sites that charge almost invariably don't even have great streaming. I also think it's crappy that they are trying to charge season subscribers more for this competition. Basically I encourage people to just say no.
