I'm so glad you witnessed this unforgettable moment our boy. He was just a boy who appeared to be so fragile ... but showed us his strength and determination. He left his champion tag. He came to win and be the first and best in this sport. It was the first time I saw him, and since then not sleep one night without praying for him and see his smile. Go Yuzu! You are a living legend, but the best of you yet to come. Ganbatte!

Ladies and gentlemen, we're going to take a brief intermission, before Yuzuru Hanyu loses all his clothing![]()

Helsinki seems like a dream when I think of it, but I am saving also!
Hi everyone:
So this weekend is the Team Challenge Cup. Without Yuzu, it lost its appeal for me...so here is my blog entry about what I think would make the event better. Hope you like it.

Hope so!!!![]()
Thanks giulia, tatzu, ladysci, pmidi, tzazu, for sharing your wonderful memories! I really enjoyed them and am so glad with your precious experiences of your lives!
Yes, and for me, at that Nice night, the audience was just “supporter” when we say in football (soccer). The supporters are said to be 12th players. It was the same about this night and the audience played an important role. Their sigh at the fall, cheering up, clapping… I can’t imagine the Nice event without this wonderful audience.
Thanks danni:luv17:, may I add this video to your collection?

(Japanese Nationals 2008, FP)
This is his first senior competition, two weeks after Junior Japanese Nationals 2008 you posted above. He could entry this senior Nationals as a Junior champion. It was the first time he got performance before such crowd… And Japanese Nationals has always some kind of tension (what we say, blood bath..). He even had a nosebleed for that tension. Under the circumstances, he was 13th at SP. But at the FP above, he never gave up and did several jump sequences at latter half in spite of his failure at first half! Look at 3A3T2T! He totally lost stamina, but he continued. He got 5th at FP and total 8th although it was his Junior debut year. After the performance, nothing remained inside his body and soul. You can see yuzu's spirit he always keeps. Never give up. I love this performance.
(BTW. The Men National champ at 2008 was Nobu!)
Thank you for sharing! In Japanese commentators, the announcer said with much anxiety, “Is he all right?” . Yuzu did 3A, and the announce shauted, “Still, he jumped!” in an very emotional voice. I’ve totally memorized the Japanese commentary!![]()
Let’s meet at Helsinki!
Thanks.I’m basically skeptical about this kind of team event for the same reasons you mentioned. And your suggestion about the time is interesting. Here in Japan we have the similar all star events in football (soccer) and baseball, and they are very fun. Further, it’s an honor for players to be chosen as players at the events by fans or comities. I think Figure skating team event somewhat lacks this type of motivation. Events become sometimes even a kind of burden for skaters..
