Javier Fernandez

It make sense since the figure skating is fundamentally big federations' game, but I doubt whether Yuna wants to compete in Japan at the first place, even though she is a fierce competitor.

Well she did pretty well every time she skated in Japan, I think she always avoided home ice because of the pressure (except for GPF once where she came 2nd).

And I LOVE the idea of Javi skating to Polovtsian Dances, I think it'll be great and I can't wait to see it:love:

Understandable, Javi did not win the two GPFs hold in his home country. The first time I watched Yuna was in an ice show headlined by her in the summer of 2006 in Seoul, when she was about to compete at the senior level. I have to say I felt like sitting in a rock n roll concert instead of an arena, the scream, shouting and clapping last from the beginning to the end.

I am wondering whether Javi's Polovtsian Dance is a comedic version.

Fujisawa is apparently specialized in combining opera and pop music (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norimasa_Fujisawa)

And this version of the Borodin piece was his first ever single release in 2008:

So maybe something like that? I'd expect it to be a serious piece, maybe with more Ina Bauers?! ;-)

Thanks for the link to the music eppen! If it is the same version then it indeed should be a serious piece.

Either autotranslate is messing with me or I think there are people on twitter saying Javi did Malagueña in the 2nd show.

I use google translate from japanese to English and it mostly turns out lots of words that do not seem to be connected.

From twitter a little vid on boys playing footie in Makuhari today: https://twitter.com/tarte_ispahan/status/736540411691290624

Haha yes online translators usually make very little sense when you try to translate from Japanese or Korean to English.

Thanks for the link to the video! It's nice that they could find some time for football:) I guess Javi won't be able to watch the Champions League final because of the time difference.
(I'll be cheering for Atleti. Sorry, Javi! ;) )

Some Periscope recordings from last night from Ari (one of the acrobatic skaters, methinks?). The first one is probably the opening, the second maybe a group routine and the two last ones are from the acrobaics/comedy act. Javi in the first at least!

Honghe, I do not think the time difference will stop him from watching the game... It seems he was already interviewed on it earlier:

I'm cheering for Atletico, too! I love that team & Diego Simeone  Totally opposite to Javi's favourite team :p But right now it's Javi that has reasons to be happy :disapp: Btw. who's playing football with Javi in that video? He seems to really love football, typical Spaniard

They interviewed a skater for a football match?

I think FaOI has a show at noon on Sunday. Oh Javi, Javi...
And this match is now heading into extra time???
I hope Javi has planned in advance and can get enough sleep before and after the match.

I'm a Barca fan so imagine my feeling when I learned that Javi is a Real Madrid fan:laugh:

Yup, but the man is by now a well-known madritista, so it's kind of lovely. The reaction could also have been very different from football fans - I have not seen that many negative tweets etc. in connection with the saque de honor or the pic with Sergio Ramos... I guess if the captain of your favourite team thinks the figure skater is ok, then you keep your mouth shut...

There were some tweets in Spanish indicating that Javi had said that he will watch the game in the middle of the night in Japan. But hey, I got up twice in the middle of the night to watch the men's SP and FS in Boston... I get it

Luckily, I have no real opinions or feelings about Spanish football - Honghe, would it better if he supported for example Atletico?

He sure is :) But some of us has its heart broken....

Congrats to Real Madrid and their fans!
Atletico really fought for this, and it must be heartbreaking for them to lose two Champions League finals in 3 seasons, and both times to Real Madrid...:console:

Well my favorite team Barcelona has a fierce rivalry with Real Madrid so... But I am not Spanish, so I don't really take this kind of rivalries as seriously as local fans probably would. I'm definitely not holding it against Javi, but I can't root for Real Madrid, either.;)

I think it is very lovely that Real Madrid invited him to do the saque de honor:luv17: It must mean a lot to him. The interview with Brian from 2013 that evergreen posted a couple of days ago mentions that Javi got invited to watch a Real Madrid-Barcelona match after winning his first Euros title. Brian said:
“Now he’s grown up and he sees this as a job that he likes, and he sees the potential, and when he was European champion just recently, I think he really liked what came along with that, which was great media, and it was great for Spain, and he got to go see this great football game with Barcelona and Madrid, and sit in the owner’s box and meet the players and have a jersey signed by all of them ... so I think he’s kind of digging this and realizes he has to work hard to keep it.”

So maybe it could even be extra motivation for Javi:laugh: "Keep winning and you'll get invited to more Real Madrid games!" lol:rofl:

I would not mind if the saque de honor would become a bit of a tradition for the next couple of years ;-)

Withe the singer Norimasa FUJISAWA on Twitter: https://twitter.com/fujisawa_0308/status/736737322394210304

More football - very sunny and warm it seems: https://www.instagram.com/p/BF-hfieS0tc/?tagged=faoi

I think the guys he plays with are some of the Russian skaters/performers in the show? And Tomas Verner this time?

And this morning on Spanish tv, Seguridad vital (La 1 on RTVE). RTVE have a easy system where you can watch the programs afterwards (and btw also download them quite easily...) - I hope it works also outside Europe. It opens to the live tv page (http://www.rtve.es/directo/la-1/ ), then click "a la carta" on the right and find the program in the list (it was on 9.30 Spanish time). It's a car/traffic show and Javi's section starts around 10 min.

I had some trouble understanding the Spanish conversation (I'm slowly getting to be fairly well versed in figure skating Spanish, but this beat me!) - xibsuarz, if you ever have the time, it would be wonderful to get a summary of what he says?! :-)
