Elena Radionova

Ack, you beat me to it, winky97!!

So it is Shae-Lynn Bourne after all. VERY INTERESTING!!

I have to admit, I'm not that familiar with her work. Who does she choreograph for, besides Ashley Wagner?

That is a very intriguing pose for her short program...hmmmm, what kind of music is that, I wonder!!

LOL! I work hard to try to beat u! Lord knows u are the best Lena stalker out there. Shae-Lynn has a website where she lists many of the people she has worked with. List includes Katia Gordeeva, Weaver and Poje, and Kira Korpi.

Looking forward to it. Hopefully Lena has better luck with Shae Lynn's work than she did her ex-husband.

Oh yay!! I was secretly hoping for Shae-Lyn Bourne. She choreographed Yuzuru's Seimei and POTO programs, also some of Daisuke Takahashi's programs. I hope Elena has amazing programs this year.

Hahahahaha! I'm not sure that's something to be proud of.... :o:

But that reminds me, here are some professional photos from "All That Skate":

Ah yes, after I wrote that, I remembered that she choreographed Yuzu's Seimei. I really hope she can make something iconic for Lena too!

Hmm, maybe Bollywood? I could see Elena pulling that off...

That's what I was kinda thinking too! Hmmm!!!

Phew not Lori LOL

And Shae Lynn is a good choice, she performed solo for a while too and I think her passionate choreography will suit Elena, can't wait to see what they've created together.

Wow, I just got even more excited to see Lena's new programs! Shae-Lynn did an incredible job with Ashley! I really liked all of the programs they did together (Shine on You Crazy Diamond, Hip Hip Chin Chin, Moulin Rouge, Spartacus). I also really enjoyed Yuzuru's FS this season. Seems like a few more people are working with her for next season, since Rika's new SP is by her too. :cheer:

(Edit: It turns out that Ashley's Spartacus was not choreographed by Shae-Lynn. Oops:scratch2:)

one thing worries me that Elena seems to be quite independent from her trainer and feels already adult, but she is still just a kid (17 y/o). She does new program (according to what she wrote is a short one) with new choreographer abroad without Inna G. Her own choices were not necesserily good as we could see last season. I think trainer gives her too much liberty and unfortunately relation between them (as we can see during the competitions) are quite cold.

Inna G picked the FS... and Morozov is to blame for the SP...

Frankly, I don't understand why she's not working with Averbukh anymore. He gets interviewed all the time and puts in good words for the people he choreographs.

Elena is not Inna G's only student and with them finally branching out and using someone abroad for the program I can see how the coach might not have time to travel oversees for that. With Skype, FaceTime, and what not, there are plenty of ways for her to get input from coach. It's not like Elena's alone running a muck. Her parents are with her, at least I assume they still are since they were in Minnesota with her.

As for the perception that things were chilly between Elena and Inna, either of them could have ended this relationship if they wanted so I assume they are ok. No relationship is perfect. Even the closest of people people can disagree and fight. Elena had growing pains last season. Elena probably got frustrated and Inna likely did not know what to say. This is after all, the first student Inna has gotten this far. This probably effected the relationship.

While people may not have liked her programs last year, I believe that her issues last season were more the result of that changing body than hatred for the programs. Elena was largely in the mix through out the season when she hit the jumps. This was actually the best time for her problems. She has plenty of time to work things out before 2018.

since I was super busy when Lena posted those pic, I was already dead tired when I got home then boom! I saw her posts haha that resulted for another 3hrs online and ended up with 2hrs sleep but still energetic and happy :) and I agree with comments about Ashley, while I am not a fan of her, I really like her programs ^^) my expectation is so high now, God, I hope and pray that it will be better

and regarding her and Inna, I really dont see any prob.. (??) i am more surprise with closeness. but it will be hard for sure to train long distance with her coach, i hope she's good..

Yes, I agree - I don't see a weird dynamic between her and Inna at all. I am not sure what the other people are talking about.

What I'm wondering is, did Shae-Lynn choreograph her LP as well, or just her SP? I would be happy with either, just wondering if there are more surprises on the way! I can't wait till GP assignments are announced. I swore I was not going to Chicago this year for Skate America (I don't think I could take time off), but if Elena is going to be there, I might just have to!

Since GP is impossible for me~~ i am just hoping that she join Asian Open

SA is easy for me since I live in Chicago. Definitely going to SA. My big question mark is Skate Canada. I have been debating since Toronto is a short trip even drivable for me. If Lena draws Skate Canada I will definitely go.

Me too! I'm definitely going if Lena gets Skate America or Skate Canada! :hap10:

I was also a little surprised that Lena went to choreograph her programs without Inna G., but like winky97 said, there are many ways for them to communicate now.

As for their relationship--I think it is 100% good now. But you are right--that wasn't always the case. As Lena explained it, all these rumors about her switching coaches were swirling about, and poor Inna even believed them!

Q: You may not reply on this question, but talks about the change of coach are nonsense?

Elena: I just wanted to say about it. There was a strange situation when suddenly people started to ask me, even on the phone call: “Is it truth that you’re leaving?” One woman wrote: “Don’t, why do you do such mistakes.” Imagine, it came to this! The funny thing is that even Inna Germanovna believed it. And I think mentally she was ready that I will leave her. I had to reassure her, explain that everything is fine, that I’m not going anywhere.

Probably, people used to such situation, if an athlete has any setbacks, he starts to look the reason of his problems on the side. But I think that in the shortcomings of this season there’s also a part of my fault. Therefore, in relation to the coach, I don’t think I need to change something now. I am fine. I just have to take into account all the mistakes and move on.

Q: It’s great, if you think that: in a difficult situation it’s necessary first to look for the reasons in yourself and not to blame someone else. You say: all the same Lena. This’s thoughts of adult.

Elena: Of course, there are situations when coach and athlete reached their peak and understand that it’s necessary to change something, to move on. But not in my situation. I know that I can go further with this coach.

So there was probably a period of tension, and it seems like it's gone now.

Just look what Inna had to say about Lena:

From Bing Translator with my edits:
Q: When did you feel Lena should stop wearing tights over her boots, which is girly/juniorish?

A: This year. Because she became stunning. A lady. When riding, I found myself thinking - that I admire her. I myself cannot believe that it happened. I like. I love Lena. That she is smart, beautiful, so adult. And just amazing. Noble, if you want.

She's a fan of Lena, so I think as long Lena wants to work with her, she will happily work with Lena!

And since we're on this subject, here are some photos of Lena and Inna G. through the years:

Winky97, you and Batsuchan are lucky! I am just starting a new job so don't think taking any time off will be a good idea, unless my boss happens to be a figure skating fan (which I doubt). If you guys go, I'll just have to live vicariously through your reports :)

Only one more day till we find out about GP assignments!

I did get lucky this year with location of SA and SC. Let's see if we are lucky enough to get Lena for one of them.

I guess Lena is back in Russia now...?

You can hear her say "Otliiichno" ["Excellent"] in this video that Moris Kvitelashvili posted today:
https://www.instagram.com/p/BHPTc3Th1N9/?taken-by=moriskvitelashvili

So I guess she must be at Novogorsk now with Goncharenko's group? (I think Tutberidze's group is also training there now.)

I wonder if Shae-Lynn also did Lena's LP, or if Lena is going to work with someone else for that.

I'm excited to see what Lena's GP assignments are! :drama:
