:hijacked: Alert!!!! Russians, it's me again. Why haven't I heard that the famous "At&t girl" here in the US, is From Uzbekistan??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J2RUyyNLVV8 Is this common knowledge? Is she famous in Russia as well?? I was completely shocked when I saw this clip on YouTube.

So she is popular there? Hmm...interesting!:thumbsup:

She is on a very repetitive TV marketing campaign here for AT&T. Not so sure she is popular as much as she is simply well known but I think she is funny ;)

This statement is closer to true. She's kind of like "Flo" The Progressive Insurance Lady. They are both very recognizable. However, if you walked into a mall and showed random people their pictures, I bet everyone would say "Oh, that's the AT&T Girl" if you asked the follow up question, "What's her real name?" They'd have no idea. Her real name is Milana Aleksandrovna Vayntrub

They did the same thing with Flo The Progressive Lady. They showed people her picture and they all said, "Oh that's Flo, the progressive lady" and then they asked, "Do you know Flo's real name?" and they basically said, Uhhhhhh, No. Flo's real name is Stephanie Courtney.

I gotta say... As much as I'm freaked out by Morozov, Anna's SP last season was just phenomenal. My jaws dropped when watching her live in person. She should have won the SP that day if the competition weren't held in Boston.:jaw:

She's 14, has never won anything, her outcomes on national level: 27, 34, 10, 19, 5, 16, 5, don't think she has any chances for JGP next season...
So why do I like Polina Shuboderova's skating? Is it the smile? :love:;)

imo she has the best 2a of anyone in Tutberidze group. I like her because she has big potential and her skating is very fluid aside from some of her 3-3's. She has started blossoming on the ice because she is now with Eteri. Just think she was only with Eteri for roughly half the season and look at the huge progress she has made.

Boskil, I just had a chance to watch those programs and you're right. She's quite a lovely young skater with very good technique. She rotates so fast in the air and her spins are fast and very well centered. Thank you for posting those clips.

No problem, she's gorgeous indeed. Those axels and rippons are magnificent:)
I agree she needs more time in Moscow with Eteri (she arrived from Perm) to improve those painfully slow 3-3s and some telegraphed 3s. The only problem here is insane competition (read "bloodbath") amongst Russian juniors - will she be given enough time and attention to develop? :scratch2:
She has some nice balletic inclinations, nice hands, plus that smile man! :love::luv17:

I found something perhaps interesting. Detailed analysis of each SP and LP of top 6 female skaters in last WC. Jump height, prerotations, underrotations, step sequences...
Because this is in russian, so:
высота = height
преротейшн = prerotation
недокрут = underrotation
в воздухе = in air

Generally, it confirms that the most powerfull jumps has Gracie and Pogo, and the smallest Satoko, of course

OK Russian's. You all know how much I love Tennis as it's the only sport I love as much as skating. Well, Gorgeous Marat Safin is being inducted into the Tennis Hall Of Fame. He is the first Russian to be inducted into the Hall Of Fame..Congratulations!!:cheer2:

Marat Safin interview about beating Novak in 2008. He's very charming and extremely smart. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JOgzupsI19Y

In her last week interview Medvedeva says a lot of good words about Japan. But what is most interesting is that her both programs are ready and she thinks they are not worse than those from the last season.

http://www.fsrussia.ru/intervyu/2243-evgeniya-medvedeva-akikhabara-eto-raj-dlya-animeshnika.html

Good news were also coming from Sochi that Yulia has stabilized all her jumps. If her stamina is back together with 3-3s then I would not be surprised if Team Russia next year were Medvedeva-Pogorilaya-Lipnitskaya. However, it could be Sotnikova-Radionova-Tuktamysheva as well. Even someone from the most unlikely trio: Sotskova-Leonova-Artemyeva could make a try - first of all Sotskova.

Then test skates this season will be not just a matter for music choice and choreo discussions but the first serious trial: who is ready and who shows a promise to be competitive next season. Some lazy skating with no jumps may mean unpleasant consequences: next season the Fed will have tough choices to make and every shot will matter.

The rumours are that Yulia is in good form now (!) and has all her jumps. Medvedeva is ready indeed, I guess she is a strong contender to be in the team this year too. The 3 person is more intriguing: Anna, Lena or Liza. But wouldn't be much surprised if Masha Sotskova took that place :P

Haha, pointing to potential favourities you guys have basically named all team members. :roll9:
That's how good this team is! Crazy! :biggrin:
