Yuzuru Hanyu: 2016-17 Season

Well, whatever his choices are we know he spent lots of time thinking about them this year. I have no idea what a different yuzuru means, but it all sounds good to me.

I really can't imagine something more shocking than RJ2.
Personally, I don't mind minimalist costume like Chan, I meant, I can enjoy Yuzuru just fine skating in his under armor so something simple will also be fine to me. But i think if it is different in Yuzuru's standard I am guessing it would be something more simple and tamed

If SP is a rock one, then I think tuxedo is for LP and perhaps it is going to be a jazzy one. Shae-Lynn loves jazz. I just hope it wouldn't be some kind of Javi follow up style program. And please no suspenders involved. As per EX... wow, there's a plenty of ideas- from a classical piece that (if is going to be successful) could be shaped into LP for Olympic season or a pop song, which is not bad but I just hope not some kind of Feeling Good kind of choice or You Lift Me Up or anything or a kind which basically killed our poor ears for a few seasons already. Not a soppy one, pretty please. And I want at least one of his programs to be airy, you know, because he is like that, like Shae-Lynn said- he's like feather- so I want him to keep that feeling in at least one of his programs.

His costume will be a tuxedo?
If it is true I doubt it will be an actual tuxedo though, probably something like Chan's POTO costume and he could jump quads just fine in that.

It's just fan imagination. No skater (except ID couple) does a program in a tuxedo suit, except for an EX. The most would be black pants, white shirt (with or without sleeves) and untie necktie. Nothing original, tho, but Yuzu is usually careful with the costume and making sure it won't become a problem for the performance, especially the jumps. So I don't think we have to worry, whatever the costume will be.

Umm, did you see the videos of Michal Brezina I linked a few posts above- those are comfortable and the one he did for LP is a light version, almost a unitard so it was not that uncomfortable to skate in.

I liked Adam's costume, but I have no idea how it can look with Yuzu and something of this style. Maybe a darker shade or black version?

OK, I read the article. It’s an interview with Noriko Shirota.
Actually, she didn’t say “upbeat” but she said the image of it is close to his ’12-’13 ex, “Hello, I Love You”. She can’t reveal the name of the music yet but the program will be something interesting, including the costume and it will showcase a new Yuzuru.
The FS is coming along fine, including the music choice. She didn’t reveal the choreographer for the FS (nor the SP) because she wanted to leave that up to Yuzuru. (uh, Brian?)

I’m glad he is working with DW again. I think it’s a good idea to use any of the sources available at TCC so having him choreograph an ex sounds like an excellent idea.
For costumes, I just hope he won’t be wearing his shiny black pants!

Now my another interest is the time of the practice day opened to media only, where he will show his new programs. Last year it was August 8 and the previous year was August 7.

but as that R&J2 and Requiem costumes ended up grown on me and I suppose he’s capable of dealing with any type of costume more than before so actually I am free from being worried about that, in all I trust his taste in costume now, can't wait to know :yay:

With costumes it's like something that you pay a lot of attention to when you're bored and you can never be bored with Yuzu. Whatever he is wearing it is him and his skating what keeps your attention, what matters the most. I love this about him.
