More infro about his LP, "Hope and Legacy" was written by Hisaishi and was dedicated to Nagano Paralympics,
I know Joe Hisaishi was involved with the Nagano Paralympics, he wrote music for it. But not sure what that music is, exactly. I think I might have something in my piano albums... I've come across it before.

edited to add: I used google translate, and if I understand people's replies in the page correctly, they seem to think it concerns "Asian Dream Song" as the theme song for the Paralympics.

That would make sense, as far as I'm concerned, as I've never been able to place that song.

It also happens to be one of my all-time fave Hisaishi songs (and I've been a fan for a long time!), and it feels very "Japanese", so it'd probably be perfect.

I would not be surprised if the costume is NOTHING alike Prince, tho. But hey! Still keeping my hopes up! :laugh2:
Ok! And will I get to keep your stuff too???
You will have my 3 cats to take care, along with many books and deadlines from my various freelance works.
Just joking, aside from the potential scary costume, I think the SP music has some nice parts and lyrics. He will have fun with it.

I was expecting like Poto 2 for SP and R&J3 for Lp. That's some surprise

I guess he is saving this for olympics :palmf:

Actually, wouldn't it make more sense for him to keep his FS music for the Olympics, if it's indeed the Hisaishi Nagano Paralympics composition(s)?

Me crazy-lover of cats, so me be happy. (not about the work, tho, lol)
But yes, joke aside, he'll definitely have fun. And even if some of us end up not liking the costume (which will be very likely since Yuzu's taste can't be up to everyone's taste) the SP itself should make it better.

No idea. But only if IT IS that piece of music. We'll know soon enough, anyway (since it's already 14th in Japan). If it is, he might just do that or keep the SP... or decide to go for two new programs afterwards. But it would also make sense to keep the LP for next year and enhance it.
That's, of course, too early to think about it, but it's something interesting to remember.

I am so happy Yuzu is skating to Prince: I've got the complete discography of this weird, narcissistic and so fun genius ^^ I think this song will suit his 'wild' side very much ! And I think there is a good balance between both music. I just caaaan't waaaaait to see both programmes :yahoo::hap93::hap10:

I think I deleted my post when I tried to edit it... :techfail:

So anyway, again, if the 6 songs from the playlist above are indeed the ones Yuzu used the View of Silence is the big finish.

I wonder whether Yuzuru chose the music himself or if he had suggestion, and if so, from whom? He can't have brought the Joe Hisaishi discography to Shae-Lynn and asked for the cut, right? I'm really curious about the music selection and editing process.

Maybe he had Hisaishi help him out with the cut... Okay, hey, the SP is Let's Go Crazy, I'll suggest crazy things tonight.

Happy to read the news! Sounds like fun and great choices for him, I can't wait to see the programs. All fingers crossed for his good health this season, too. ^_^

Have they met?

Yuzu: Mr. Hisaishi, I'm such a fan, I really want to skate to your music but I can't decide to what, eveything is so beautiful.
Hisaishi: Well, my personal favorites are these.
Yuzu: Got it.

I wonder if it was Yuzu's idea initially, if it was something he heard and liked personally and wanted to use. I had him pegged as more of a pop/rock listener in his spare time, but maybe he heard some of the music in a movie and decided to research? Questions, questions!

More infro about his LP, "Hope and Legacy" was written by Hisaishi and was dedicated to Nagano Paralympics, Its essence is : besides so many obstacles , we should live with hope and still there is the hope, so if there is the hope, overcoming everything becomes possible, and though it (paralympics ) in a world where we live together ,facing obstacles and and here the new system of value is created ,which forms a The legacy.

Javier Raya posted a short video of his new SP program (his own, not Yuzu's, of course), and it seems like it IS Yuzuru skating in the rink along with a few other skaters (the shape definitely looks like Yuzu, anyway): https://twitter.com/skateraya/status/774707485634465792
So the kid is already back in Canada. I didn't know. Good to know, then.

Yuzuru’s wish at Tanabata Festival this year (dated Aug 2016), hung in Ice Rink Sendai recently:
“No mistakes in both the short and free programmes. That I can devote myself to practice with no injury.”

TRANSLATIONS

"pirouette" from September just arrived!
Hanyu did therapy for his left foot ligament in Toronto at a Japanese specialist still begin of August.
Hanyu's Sp und FS music is to be announced on 13th of September in a press conference.
The author ( Klaus-Reinhold Kany) said: Hanyu tried a lot of quads except Axel and toeloop, stood a lot but some landed on his ...ahem...butt ( Hosenboden in German).
Hanyu wasn't allowed to give an interwiew to Mr Kany because that would only be possible after a previous OK from the Japanese federation, but Hanyu liked that he was on the cover of the "pirouette" of July/August.
Orser : Hanyu was avoiding 4 T and would train the other quads because of this. The rate with 4 Lo and 4 S was 70% and these quads he wanted to show in FS.
Orser confirmed also the Autum-Classic - participation.

There seems to be an uproar about this article in social media. A lot of people are confused about the magazine, haha.
In case there's still any confusion about this: the information came from an article in a German figure skating magazine (actually the only one I'm aware of. And figure skating is in no way big here, so this isn't some gossip journal but a reputable magazine). It's from an article about TCC in the September issue of Pirouette magazine. (the cover and the first one of this two-page article had already been posted and partly translated). I did a more direct translation of the parts regarding Yuzuru just to clear things up.

Ten days prior at Skate Detroit, Orser told me that during my planned visit on August 2nd, both Hanyu and Javier Fernandez would be there for training, plus many others of course.

[...]

I could watch Yuzuru Hanyu and can confirm what Lutricia Bock and Lea Johanne Dastich said during Skate Detroit (see page 14). He tried a lot of quads (except axel and toe loop), he landed a lot of them, but he sometimes also landed on his butt. I hadn't planned an interview [with him] because that would only have been possible with prior approval by the Japanese federation, but he was happy about the cover picture of the last issue of Pirouette magazine.

Orser also told me about him: He had been in Canada the whole time and had cancelled shows in Japan. In April and May he had to take a break due to an injury of the left midfoot, which had burdened him since last autumn, especially when doing 4T. For the first time he hadn't been treated by doctors in Japan but in Toronto, and at the beginning of August he was still doing therapy with a Toronto-based Japanese specialist. The pain when doing 4T is the main reason why he trains the other quads so intensively but still doesn't want to do the 4T. However, 4Lo and 4S work about 70% of the time and he will probably show them in the free skate. Orser was informed by the Japanese federation that Pirouette is only allowed to publish his new music [they use the plural of the word, so they mean both SP and FS] after a press conference on September 13th, which is unfortunately shortly after this issue will be published. The small Autumn Classic event at the end of September in Pierrefonds, Montreal, is supposed to be his first competition. There are only about 600 seats for spectators, so, like last year in Barrie, we can expect things to get cramped.
So basically all the information came from Orser. But before anybody gets a fit: he's obviously aware of which information he can and cannot share about Yuzuru and his training. Otherwise why would he mention the restrictions about things that he can't say. And I would think the information about the press conference on the 13th is pretty solid, too.

wow, as soon as we hear about his music choices thread goes crazy  (Specs, no need to worry about 2800th page before SC cause there is still TV Show for airing his open practice  ) i like the music choices and hopefully will LOVE the programs, cant wait!!!! :hap57:

So he's gonna go crazy, eh? Nice choice for him. Something to have fun with and enjoy, for him and the audience.

As for the long program... not sold on that music... but when music is cut and put together it can really change opinions so I will wait for that.

You know while I'm almost sure Joe Hisaishi is his personal choice, as he obviously has a thing for this kind of music, I'm not sure Prince was his own choice. I can guess he was recommended it and liked it.
