Well, Swan Lake is out... he already did it, aka White Legend, lol. As for any other warhorse, time will tell... but I doubt it. I think he's choosing more unique stuff... but for the Olympics, well, weird things happen in those years!! I could handle a Bolero, though.

Bolero could suit him quite right btw.:agree:

NO

Film music would be great :yes2:

Well, many skaters get more conservative and go back to warhorses for the Olympic season because it will get the non-FS-fans going. I wouldn't be surprised if he did use one next year, but I really hope he doesn't, he's done a wonderful job with non-warhorse programs!

Hm, idk, i'm a John Williams and Hans Zimmer fan
Yeah, both have a huge list of great OST.
I think he will go with the warhorse but I don't mind. It is always celever to play it safe for Olympics when it comes to music selections. Who knows what those judges may have in mind?

I also keep thinking about Hanyu's Olympic programs, presumably those could be his last competitive ones. How does he want to be remembered? What kind of music does he want to showcase to the world, to state "I am Yuzuru Hanyu, I will reign"? What kind of music can lift him to his "Olympic moment"?

I'd love something victorious, uplifting, triumphant, king-like. Conveying the themes of Hope and Legacy, if you will  I think about his first Romeo and Juliet program at Nice 2012, he was the young prince of figure skating charging in with a battle cry, this tragic Shakespearean figure of reckless youth and passionate abandon. I'd love for him to revisit Shakespeare as kind of an homage to his younger self, kind of wrapping his competitive career and coming full circle:

Henry V: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a-dR8HD45qs

or
Hamlet: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IIaKrOllUFw

(Goodnight, sweet prince )

(Speaking of Scheherazade, he could totally work a costume like Mao's or John Curry's. I kind wanted him to skate to Salome at one point )

I confess I can't get of the feeling that Yuzuru might choose warhorse of warhorses for the Olympics, such as Swan Lake.

Somebody please tell me it's just an illusion :palmf:

His Goddess choreographer :luv17: would probably talk him out of using a warhorse. Also, he's older now and his taste in music has become more sophisticated.
