Yuzuru Hanyu: 2016-17 Season

I said from the beginning that this music would be perfect for him and it is. I think it will be well received and marked, but I also think it will take longer for it to reach its full potential. He already has the personality, but just like with PW, it will get better once he really owns it. More nuances will be hit etc.. To that end, I would not worry if he does it clean here because there is so much more to improve with it. (And if it isn't clean, that is ok too) No matter what happens, it is just such a joy to see him on the ice and competing that how he skates is almost secondary. Now it is my fear of the costuming that concerns me...

His programs are well balanced. One is technical, intricate, dynamic and fun and the other is more calm, strong and beautiful.

Yes, I totally agree with you. I think it will take time for him to become really confident with this programme... as it's a programme that really requires a lot of confidence (like the kind Adam and Ashley have in abundance). I'm so excited to watch it progress throughout the season!

I'm so pleased with how he's been doing different styles every year. If we think about his SP/FS from last year and this year, they are four totally different styles.

However the SP goes for Yuzu tonight, I just hope that its layout going into the first GP event is one that satisfies both him and Brian. I don't want to see a repeat of what happened last year at Skate Canada.

Ah, I only saw 15 seconds of it. It was really disorienting because she fell out of her St/ChSq. I agree she looked lost at the end of it - like she has done after most free skates for the past two years... Anyway, I should stop talking about this on Yuzuru's Fan Fest.

The ladies SP started around 25 minutes after the planned time. Assuming a bit more delay I expect it to begin at around 20:00.
