I finally watched it on my tiny screen (LQ ver) and I can't...see his legs....:reye: He's so in tuned with the ice, he's become the ice.

He feels disappointment since he was not able to complete the program. With the first 4ltz, he says it is nothing with him but at all.

Yuzu is yuzu... strict with himself.

Do you mean 4Lo

Thanks for translating the news hamaguri!

yuzuru is yuzuru after all so I would expect a "kuyashi" kind of reaction after that performance

Look at this they found it...it is this Prince costume

Prince live performance in it https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVFfZeXSRDo

Well, now, nobody can say "It's not a Prince" costume XD

I wanted to watch live, but alas I fell asleep just before the ladies started.

Woke up at 4:30 and it was done already :laugh2:.

My thoughts : I was a bit shocked when I saw all this white, because it's major change for Yuzu. That said, it's actually better than everything else I had imagined (frills everywhere were the scariest option as far as I'm concerned). By the end of the program, I found myself thinking it was a good costume for this program, and I'm glad Yuzu is taking that road. To learn that it's actually a real Prince costume, that's just icing on the cake XD.

The program wasn't perfect, but I'm still quite happy with this outing :yahoo:. He can definitely go up from there, but it also wasn't such a disaster that it'd make him want to overwork himself over it. I guess it's just right for a first competition of the year. :agree:

Well done Yuzu, hopefull that will help with the competition jitters XD.

And also, congrats on that 4Lo, it was pretty good :luv17:.

Ahh I'm very happy with this performance! There were the first competition jitters but he made it through and PERFORMED the hell out of the program! I almost doubted if he could pull off the vibe of the program but he really sold it. It would be so awesome once he gets comfortable with it and nail the jumps (that rut in the ice was unfortunate).

And congrats to Yuzu for his first 4Loop! Succeeded on his first try! I was surprised he could keep calm enough to land it, considering how the practices went. I was expecting a pop so that was a huge relieve.

I'm still not sure about the costume. It looked very restrictive when I first saw it and wasn't sure how he was able to move or jump in it.... I love the costume way better off ice since it does fit him very well but the white does really merge with the ice. It also looks too 'neat' for the program. I thought he would gel up his hair as well XD.

I can't wait for the free skate though. I'm expecting a costume similar to his Believe collaboration program. It's so great to have such contrasting programs this season! He can have fun and let loose in his short and then become contemplative and controlled in his free.

Hanyu was less than magnificent first time out this season, but he still won the short, skating to Prince in a costume that even coach Brian Orser hadn’t seen before .(“This is the first I’ve seen of it, when he came out of the rest room,” Orser said. “Oh, white.”) The 2014 Olympic champion earned 88.30 points, a far cry from his world record of 110.95. Twenty-two points lower in fact.

Hanyu lost oodles of points with the single Salchow-triple toe loop combo which fizzled into 2.20 points. (As soon as he got off the ice, he told Orser that he’d stepped into a hole, perhaps even from one he created in warmup.) He lost levels on two spins. One judge gave him marks as low as 7.75 for skating skills, while the rest were in the 9.25 range. He received average marks in the eight range for transitions and performance.

Orser said he thought Hanyu was nervous. “We’ve been fussing around the last couple of weeks,” he said. “Little injuries and little things. And it’s September and it’s kind of where we are.” It’s six months to worlds.

“He kind of digs this program,” Orser said. “I think it bodes well for the future. I think it’s a good vehicle.”

Jeff Buttle chose the music, soon after Prince died, and the Prince music was everywhere. “We wanted to go that direction,” Orser said. “I think for this year too, it’s time for it.”

She did not even mention that he landed a 4Loop. Oh Well...
