didn't...really...like...the...performance. final verdict till he cleans.

music is part of problem,a very forgettable song, maybe cause i never quite taken to prince music

choreography is a bigger issue, so, this is his take on the humorous, groovy kind of music? I remember he expressed wishes to try Javier-style after Boston last year. So far, I'm not getting the fun, dippy vibe from it, in fact, don't know what he is trying to convey through this, the whole program feels like washed-out rehash of parienne walkway.

FS probably won't do much wrong with Hisaishi, but i was more looking forward to new SP when i heard about song choice.

guess this year is more about technical than artistry.

It's just the start. Let's see how the program develops throughout the season. :) (well at least I hope so :hap10:)

Now I'm recovering from the first shock wave of Yuzuru in total white :dbana: (OK, I know it was not total white, but nearly.)

You know what, I could recover from the first sight of R&J2 costume at Finlandia 2013 when he took off his jacket :reye:, although it took some time to convince myself that Yuzuru would go to Sochi with that costume

OK. I'm now ready to face the second shock wave of FS :dance2:

I hope Yuzuru would be with less pressure tomorrow. The latter half of his FS music by Joe Hisaishi is haunting in my head these days :p He said, "As this is not the music with a rigidly fixed theme, I want to express the image of nature; such as wind, trees, or water." So, I think (hope) the costume would be more conservative one. Fingers crossed.

Ok, i have to be completely honest:
I LOVED the way he performed the SP, but i felt like it lacked something. I actually like the white in the costume, i was in class and i screamed "HE'S WHITE!". He seemed to enjoy every second and that is what i really liked but still, something felt off. I hope it is just because it's his first competition of the season, don't take me wrong, i love this guy and it was really fun to watch but a part of me felt very empty after it finished.

Edit: No, it wasn't the lack of hydroblade :laugh:

Let's give him some time to truly make the program "his". I think that we'll see a much better version once he grows into it

In terms of what it could be, the program has endless potential, in terms of what Yuzu is performing right now, it still has a ways to go. But I still really like it.

I remember disliking the PW in the first place as well... but he made me love it. I think it will be the same with Let'/ go crazy.

SP

EDIT: Protocols are out 4Lo fully rotated!!! And I had forgotten about the rule change, where parts of the combo can be counted and some other not, so the 3T did count but the 1S didn't.

A twitter user found the answer to our problems....dye the ice purple. The white does looks beautiful on him

His interview
https://t.co/6Zj5jIjPS5

He feels disappointment since he was not able to complete the program. With the first 4ltz, he says it is nothing with him but at all.

Yuzu is yuzu... strict with himself.

http://www.sanspo.com/sports/news/20161001/fgr16100111310006-n1.html

He got nervous. He feels he must practice more. The score doesn't reach 90.

Hanyu was less than magnificent first time out this season, but he still won the short, skating to Prince in a costume that even coach Brian Orser hadn’t seen before .(“This is the first I’ve seen of it, when he came out of the rest room,” Orser said. “Oh, white.”) The 2014 Olympic champion earned 88.30 points, a far cry from his world record of 110.95. Twenty-two points lower in fact.

Hanyu lost oodles of points with the single Salchow-triple toe loop combo which fizzled into 2.20 points. (As soon as he got off the ice, he told Orser that he’d stepped into a hole, perhaps even from one he created in warmup.) He lost levels on two spins. One judge gave him marks as low as 7.75 for skating skills, while the rest were in the 9.25 range. He received average marks in the eight range for transitions and performance.

Orser said he thought Hanyu was nervous. “We’ve been fussing around the last couple of weeks,” he said. “Little injuries and little things. And it’s September and it’s kind of where we are.” It’s six months to worlds.

“He kind of digs this program,” Orser said. “I think it bodes well for the future. I think it’s a good vehicle.”

Jeff Buttle chose the music, soon after Prince died, and the Prince music was everywhere. “We wanted to go that direction,” Orser said. “I think for this year too, it’s time for it.”

actually, anyone also spotted that something has changed in his jumping technique ? It looks like he rotates faster than ever, and he is able to land even not perfect jumps. That 4lo was not as high as usual but he rotated it mighty fast and was able to put his foot in right time somehow. He is not falling on his quads in practice also anymore, there is something they look solid as rock, I don't know but the way he was landing this quads in fs run one after another it looked like it was not taking any effort
Maybe it's just that 4lo took all attention and other quads are not hard anymore for him

This is why I love watching his practices in the UA, he looks great in practice gear. Can't wait for the free :)
He really does :luv17: maybe we can steal his practice pants, bling those up and replace them with those white pants (I was this close to calling them tighty whities....)

I like his costume! But it’s true that it’s hard to see on the ice. Hmm.. Maybe add purple or patterns to the pants?
As for the program itself, I think it’ll be a masterpiece by the end of the season. PW was starting to hurt my ears after hearing it a gazillion times but I did miss the sassy Yuzuru.
I’m just extremely happy to see him back healthy after the long break from injury and hope that he stays healthy for the rest of the season, and the next, and the next…
And congratulations to him on his first 4Lo in competition, rotated and landed!

Some Japanese fans were saying that it looked like he was going for a 4T after the pop on the salchow. Maybe that is what they spotted too?

He tried second 4t at that time.. awful... very yuzu.

I actually love the costume: it is very Prince-like without being extreme Prince-like ^^(both men are rather 'small' in build and white fits them well). At the same time the bling on the vest is very Yuzu-like  But I do agree that white on white is not that great. The white pants should simply be replaced by black ones and the patterns on the side should be purple to remind us of the colour of the vest (or something along these lines).
As for the performance, I think him popping the salchow made him think a bit too much but as others say, there is great potential here. Some others said this style was very reminiscent of Javi's style and I do agree too, but with time, Yuzu will make this programme his own with his own sassy self :p

Long live the 4Lo!

This program has what I loved about PW. It makes him look relaxed and joyful. It makes me feel like watching a show, an exhibition, not a competition. He makes everything look so easy...ok now a 3A out of nowhere...a walk in the park  To me it seemed it didn't have that crazy energy of PW, but it has potential. PW had something "wow" which didn't feel the same with this one, but I'm sure he'll try to improve the performance with every competition (PW also wasn't that good at the start. It grew a lot on the way)

The costume is among the most horrible I've seen, but ...it's Yuzu. He still looks cute, no matter what he wears (white pants:gaah:)

Looking forward for the FS. Hisaishi program can easily become my favourite Yuzu program ever.:hap10:
