...I can imagine how Orser said this "Oh, white !" when he saw Hanyu first time with that costume. Mabe Hanyu really wanted to be crazy, he must have known before that he would be hardly a contrast to the ice .

I saw a few posts that mentioned that the reason that the white pants don't work is because they clash with the ice. That so confuses me.
Isn't the reason it doesn't work because it does *not* clash with the ice, but instead fade into the background into nothingness because it's the same color? I can barely see the pants! I wish they clashed, I could see his legs a lot better than now. :sad21:

I've never been a big fan of the plain black pants, but I'd give anything right now to see them back on him. And something not-white on his arms, while we're at it, because, they, too, are just difficult for me to see, frankly.

I want to see his arms, legs, line, body...he skated so fast and in all white I cannot see his movements :sad21:.

Yesterday tweets, utube comments all are great cannot wait for SP when he practice in UA.

Today the comments are very much different because of the whiteness people cannot see his movements/lines etc. :sad4:

Very interesting. Of course, that costume wasn't exactly much less white than this one. I guess it's a combination of factors why this one doesn't work for me, and I think, hope!, that it's indeed got a lot to do with the facts that there aren't banners in the background, there aren't black pants so there is no contrast, and of course the livestream wasn't nearly as high quality video as that HD. Oh, and there don't seem to be all those tiny pretty blingy thingies on the arms of this new costume. Or are there?

The classical season debut debate on Yuzuru costumes is there even if it's not an actual debate as we all seem to agree.... Why, Yuzu, WHY ?
This white pant... I can take the white shirt, and I like the upper design of the costume, but this white pant need to go.
I think we can have hope to see a black version coming or something else, given all the reactions since he appeared.

Beside the fashion aspect, I must say that I'm thrilled by this program. He seems to have so much fun and it's contagious!
You can see he did freak out a little, as his jumps weren't as light and easy as in practice, and that spin (when was the last time he "messed up" a spin?)... but he had a sort of Weight for History on his shoulders... (and hey, who else is as AWAITED as Hanyu in the early season ?) Anyway he did a great job... Can't wait to see the FS !
