Might be nerves and him being out of practice, but to me it looked like he was digging deep from the beginning of the program. He's extremely competitive, so I hope he doesn't dwell on this competition for too long. Love all the emotion he put into the step sequence though, gives me RJ1 feels.

I don't know why you people are worried. This was better outing than last year at this event. He barely landed any quads last season and now he landed quad loops

Fantastic program for sure. I hope stamina issue wouldn't come back to him anymore, he had suffered from it enough.

He started well and then away went the stamina. It is one thing to practice well, but it is another to be out competing when that little thing called adrenaline kicks in or out and you are not used to it.

I think yuzu probably really needed to do this, at this time, to get used to it again. 6 months away from the game, time off the ic, no shows... that is a big deal. Being yuzu, he will not be happy, but this was a step that needed to be taken.

Still glad he did 2 quads and 2 axels, not bad!!
Yuzuru ordered his costumes in North America.

I think after being off the ice for, what, months, that has to have a major impact on anyone's stamina. I'm sure he'll be able to bring it back up, though. Plenty of time to work on it. Shame it happened, but it'll be fine again. :agree:

So no Biellmann in this program? Or did I miss it because I was too nervous?
No Biellmann, not yet. I kind of expected this as my friends were there at the arena all days and they told me he was looking nervous and tired. I think he did better than practice already. It's good.

Actually rather than his jumps, I wonder more about his spins. I think the 4Lo is there and the 4S and 4T too. we have seen it in practices so it could be more of a conditioning issue. But his spins here is slower than his usual spins. :scratch2:

Yeah I was kind of surprised, since he always has it in the free... maybe he'll add it later.

Right, let's think positive. He landed one decent 4Lo and hopefully more to come!

I am proud of him. He did what he could now and with time it will get better. It is September.

Definitely see a slow down in the actual competition, but his spins in practice are still amazing  Hopefully with more conditioning, he can get them back to that level.

Well, I think he is preparing himself to peak at Worlds instead of GPF so...:laugh2: (I'm joking; half-joking really).

But really, I think fans just have his "on" skates so etched in mind that anything below that feels worrisome. But one month until the first GP, very little travelling required, I think he'll say he learned a lot and has lots to work on once he gets back to Cricket. That gives him concrete something to focus and tackle, and we just need to sit back and enjoy!

I think the one thing to work on is his stamina so I am definitely positive. Of course, there's his mental state but that aside, so speaking from the purely physical angle, I have the exact same impression as I did after his short. He is doing excellent on the jumps, it is when he loses the stamina that it goes south so once he can push through the whole program, it'll settle. Also the spins too. This is great, as he has those jumps, it's just a matter of strength.

But really, the first two minutes? They were beautiful. His arms have never looked better. His posture went, again with stamina, so once that is fixed we're in for a treat. This music is perfect for him and the choreography is gorgeous.
