And the FP costume... I really like it! It's like Etude 2.0 with shades of green added! I have to admit that I do prefer the skin-colored part of the Etude costume. On this one, it's white and it's not the same feeling. But overall, it's a beauty.
And this time, Yuzu's lines cannot be missed, yay! :cheer:

The costume also seems to be a mix of the NDP costume as well with the fabric and all the sparkles. I prefer the Etude color and gradients to this one too... the white is too contrasting and abrupt...

It's funny how different he looks in the two costumes though. He looks much more 'buff' in his SP costume. XD kinda like the difference between the POTO and R&J2 costumes.

I just rewatched the FS too, and realized there is no actual breathing point like what he had in Seimei or POTO programs, where he just stopped skating and breathed then restarted his skating slowly entering the 2nd half. He is also doing 2 quads and 2 3As in the second half with spins and Chsq in between jumps, the crazy transitions, etc. I am just... amazed at how taxing and difficult this program is, even more difficult than Seimei. I wonder if they will alter something like perhaps give him a point to breathe or lessen the transition in some parts to ease him.

I feel this music is much less ups and downs than seimei or poto. Not so dramatic. This a kind of plain piece makes it difficult to insert those parts, I think. Further, I'm concerned about music. True, jo hisaishis pieces are familiar with most of Japanese. But what about other countries's people? This unfamiliarity may prevent audience from getting into performances...

I don't think they will alter anything. I expect max by NHK he will have stamina for this program

I was thinking that too when I was rewatching it. There is no real pause in the music and it seems like they tried to slow it down and give it a small breathing room after the flip (which didn't really fit that well to the music to me). I was exhausted just watching him skate so it must have been really taxing for him. He also seems to have to mentally prepare himself for his quad salchow way more than his quad toe or he would pop, so I'm not sure it's good for his consistency having two quad salchows in his program, even though it is better for his injury.
If Yuzuru has his way probably not XD

Yeah, that is the thing. I don't think it is possible to include an actual pause with the current music cut. Last season it is possible to alter the Stsq (level 2 lol) but the music cut stay the same.

I think you should not worry, hamaguri. Most people's reaction, even non-Yuzuru fans, is that they LOVE this music and the programs. Of course there are few who are unimpressed but generally I find that general skating fans find this program and music beautiful :luv17:

Yeah, I hope so. The program is already beautiful as it is now. :luv17:

People should take into account that:
1) Yuzuru is doing much harder layout compared to this time last season. Even Yuzuru at NHK 2015 might not be able to do well both of the current new programs.
2) Yuuru has a new quad which was never done before
3) Both his SP and LP are almost non-stoping.
4) Yuzuru still landed 3 clean quads and 3 clean 3A.
5) He was away from the shows and competitions for 6 months.

This outing is actually quite ok. It is good that he does senior B because by the time of senior A, he will have better feel of competition.

I think before he skated to it, most people had never heard anything about the Seimei soundtrack either, so :confused2: ...personally I don't think he has to skate to well-known warhorses to make people get into the performance. It's pretty, classical-style music that seems accessible enough.

Yeah I think Yuzuru's FS music is friendly to all the listeners. They might not love it but they will not dislike it. It's a safe choice in most countries regardless of where he will skate.
I think it's the SP Let's go crazy the riskier choice. Some people love it, some people hate it. But it is ok, this season he still has some room to experience.

It's a beautiful music, it doesn't matter if you know it or not. I personally enjoy it when skaters are skating to unknown music pieces ( or unknown for me) and are beautiful. I really don't care if it's "popular" or not, why should someone care about this? Or are people really that spoiled? Should everyone skate to Carmen, Romeo and Juliet and Swan lake bc people seems too stupid to enjoy a performance and listen to unknown music? :confused2:
Seriously, figure skating is not rocket science :shame:

But this is always like this, no matter who skates to what music. You can't satisfy everyone

True. With an unknown piece of music, people first have to get to know it. And those pieces he chose aren't exactly weird or highly experimental. With a well-known Prince song, there's a good chance that many people already know it and already have an opinion about it. And if they hate it, well  bad first impression. Then you have to work extra hard to make people like you (not that they can't come to love the program. Me, I really dislike Coldplay, but I still loved the Shib's EX and FD. But in 99% of all cases, Coldplay will make me go :scard7: as fast as I can)

OT but I was so annoyed when the ShibSibs made me not only like, but truly love their FD.

I don't want him to skate clean until worlds. Let's surprise everyone :hap10:

But i hope he'll change the colors of his costume :disapp:
The current colors depresses me :noshake:

I just watched Yuzu's FS and the first thing is that I love the costume!! It's quite the contrast to his SP costume so I enjoyed looking at how shiny the top is and how similar it looks to his 'Etude' costume. The actual program is definitely promising, similar to when we first saw SEIMEI at the Autumn Classic last year, I'm sure he'll develop this new Hisaishi piece to its full potential by the end of the season. :luv17:

I didn't know that music before and I'm really grateful that he made me discover something new. I don't have any music education and through the years figure skating has been a joyful source of learning; I have nothing against warhorses but but I really appreciate skaters that choose less known or less conventional music.

I know the feeling  I still see myself talking to my computer like "OMG I hate you, you made me fall in love with something set to Coldplay, I hate you so"

he's sparkling sooooo so so so much :gclap: I love it.
(The Chopin costume didn't look half as sparkling on screen, but live he was like a moving cloud of glitter dust :luv17:)

I was just looking at that costume again. Yuzuru said he is trying to portray the nature or something like that, his costume colors look like water/Woods (green nature)/air (the white part) :scratch2:
