Also about the unfamiliarity of Joe Hisaishi's music; I admit I didn't know any piece of him previously but one thing I can say is:

I'd much rather have an unfamiliar piece of gold than a familiar piece of garbage.

I know hisaishi's history, I looked it up... and by saying non japanese I thought the implication was there that it was us in the west I was referring to.... especially since up thread people were wondering what we, in the west, thought about him.

Her music is from a famous anime movie, so in my opinion it has more impact. I like it too. But it suits girls more than men I think.

I like his FS and his costume:luv17: more than his SP (I think the costume doesn't let me enjoy the whole thing, maybe if he changes something...) It's early in season, I expected this kind of perfomance due to the lack of training during the last months. He only needs to keep training and gaining more stamina and this program will be amazing.

About Orser's words, I don't agree with him. Shoma won over Javi this weekend with a good program but not perfect (Javi failed too) but I think this is a good warning for everyone, the young boys keep upgrading his tech content, and you can't only rely on PCS and expect to be perfect, because they'll earn biggest scores with time. I think in this case,Yuzuru's strategy is the correct.

Mr. Klaus-Reinhold Kany in Pirouette Magazine wrote "Hanyu wasn't allowed to give to him an interwiew because that would only be possible after a previous OK from the Japanese federation", which basically means Yuzu is under JSF censorship.

I rewatched it just the other day to get the feeling of the movie again. To know the movie, the story, and then watch the skate, it's such an emotional ride. That's what I did miss about Hanyu's FS. I've been playing View of Silence and Asian Dream Song on the piano for a Very Long Time, but neither song is from a Miyazaki anime, so there's no connection to a story there for me... and then the music cuts didn't help for me, of course.
Tursynbaeva's program had me tears.
Once I'm more familiar with this music cut, I think the tears will easily come, though, lol.

The mentioned technical difference loop jump-salchow let me smile inside: I did sal- timing also in loop jump for years, detecting the difference first when watching Hanyus incredible new 4 Lo and trying to do 2 Lo on the floor, so Hanyu helped me again. I bow deeply.

Just got back from Montreal, absolutely a wonderful way to spend your weekend! In love with both programs, especially the short program. Gotta say I am not a big fan of Prince and I was worried the program might be more like a gala program; but it turned out I enjoyed the short program so much. Such a brilliant way to bring Prince on ice and rock it outAs for the long, it was a magic moment when he did the stsq, almost cried out during that part as you can feel the inner peace in the music, and within his heart and soul. Not to skate to any character, it was just Yuzuru Hanyu. Idk how I am going to last till the SC

She is skating to Hisaishi's biggest masterpiece ( in my opinion), but the cuts are :noshake:

Lo and behold the colour of the costume matches :luv17:, ^^that was 23 pages ago yesterday . I'm so relieved that it is a Yuzu's costume

Actually I checked out that Prince live performance video when Yuzu announced the SP and it had never cross my mind about the costume. Luckily I never suggested that for fun or else I could never forgive myself .
