I don't understand the relevance here. This are two different competitions in different countries. And then the judges.....:roll5:
It's true that skaters are always overscored at Japan Open, but such comparaisons cannot be helped, no matter the competition. Tough competitions are something Yuzu like, anyway.

Could you please take a look at this one too?:) https://twitter.com/runrun8383/status/782470549251379200

OK, here’s my translation:

Title:
Good luck, new programs!
Count on us, old programs!

Yuzuru in Seimei costume: We’ve done quite a good job.
Yuzuru in Ballad No.1 costume: Every one called me a cool beauty.
Yuzuru in Let’s go crazy costume: I’m gonna break such public image.
Yuzuru in Hope and Legacy costume: Yeah, you’re gonna peel about 20 banana peels and become a purple banana. So crazy!

*Re Last line in purple, I'm not sure whether it's from Yuzuru in H&L costume or from the creator of the cartoon referring to Yuzuru in general.

I love these cartoons, so cute :luv17:

I guess not, at least in near future. In January when he was interviewed by Shizuka Arakawa in her TV show he said that mastering 4A is his technical goal. But he also said that he knew the risk of trying it because he remembered tackling 3A caused much damage to his body, so it would be difficult to give it a try while he is still competing. In that interview it seemed more like a big dream after retirement.
Anyway he knows the risk very well. So don’t worry too much.

But we're talking about Yuzuru... the kid who skated with a bandage on his head, skating with injuries, jumping the 4 loop that is not good for the hips, the kid who said white costumes are not ideal bc of the ice - but is now wearing white from head to toe in the SP

As soon as a Boyang or someone else will attempt it, he will join the party :party2: :dev2:

I have to agree. He has troubles with sprained ankle quite often and those prevent him from jumping his beloved 3A with no problem. So 4A is a huge risk at this stage. He'd rather go for 4Lz instead.

First of all: Sorry to all for my comparison with rosberg/ hamiltion, I draw that back, I just wanted to refer to why Hanyu wasnt told that Fernandez was upgrading at worlds, just to explain my thoughts and sorry again, I never wanted to feed conspiracy theories.

Misha Ge and Hanyu: Wouldn't it be nice to train with each other ? Both were profiting: Maybe Hanyu would take it easier, spent some more time with Ge joking and not doing so many quads, and Ge would profit as he shurely wanted to copy Hanyus jumps ( sorry Mr Ge senior, no harm meant, I appreciate you as coach a lot). I think also he would have a pal also off ice, meeting him private. When I think to my past, it was refreshing to have someone near whom I really understood from the heart and liked during my sessions, did some jokes with him inbetween, it got me really loose and I could jump really good ( I refer to my times as pro windsurfer).

Please someone find this interwiew: Whats all this about 4 A ( I can read a few Kanji especially those related to figure skating) ? What did he say ?

Thanks for the video link , mcq !
Its from af minute 4, 00 : 4Lo basic value 12, 0, but for 4A 15, 0 ! Uf, I hope they dont drive him into something.
Really interesting from af minute 4, 00 when Hanyu does rotation jumps left/ right to find his middle: The other coaches watching him closely.....:)

This is the video from today's news about the mention of 4A by him:

http://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4vrvch

starts from 3:49
Anyone can translate what he said? I only catch the 4A part. :thank:

He says “I will be happy if I will be able to master 4A ultimately.”

I’ve seen over 30 news clips since last Saturday but I could not find a footage which captured his entire comment neither after SP nor after FS, and in some TV shows they quote his words out of context (the one about 4A is one of them.) Maybe it’s better to wait for a while till some magazine or figure-skating-related TV program will cover his whole interviews… or his longer interviews. These fragmented interviews are causing confusion even among Japanese speakers:palmf: Being able to see Yuzuru being Yuzuru after all these months is great though.

Thank you so much sweetwater! I think this one is a full interview for after FS --> https://www.dailymotion.com/video/x4vnhgq but this one also doesn't have the 4A part so maybe not that full too.

And yes, there are like 30-40 news clip in total about him during and after AC, I can't keep up :dbana:

I gave up catching up his words. One after another source is kept uploaded!😂

Lol yes, the thing is, one news clip has this footage while the others don't but most of the news clip contains similar footage so it is impossible to keep up with which one has the part that has yet to be broadcasted until we watch them all :drama: :dbana:

Further, what surprised me was even nhk 7 news yesterday showed yuzu only, though the press conference of nhk cup by team japan was held! The media focused on yuzu and the topics are superficial...
