he did and A-spin instead. I wonder if it's something temporary or if he has dropped it for good. It will be sad to see that spin go since not many men can do it, but if he does it to avoid a back/shoulder injury then it's for the best.

I think when he does mistakes like that it is generally caused by exhaustion, all the competitions that you've mentioned he approached not in the best shape and being quite weak physically and (or) injured (sprained ankle, etc). Because at other comptitions, like Sochi LP, for example, he did really well after missing quad Sal and making a mistake at flip (was it flip?).The thing I noticed with Yuzuru, especially more noticeable after NHK/GPF where he delivered clean SP and LP back-to-back, is that after he made a mistake (in the LP specifically) it tends to carry on to the rest of his program. During Autumn Classic, after he made a mistake on the 3F it looked as if he lost his concentration and kept making mistakes afterwards (both his quads, his 3A and 3Lz). Last year Japan Nats is the same, after the fall on the planned 4S3T he kept making mistakes too. Same can be said for this year's worlds. So he should work on that too, imo; of what to do if he makes mistakes, and not let it affect him and his whole program. I know that his true goal is a "perfect performance", but baby steps there, boy.![]()
I love the way he describes the jumps with sound imitations, maybe someone could ask him to do sound imitations for all the other jumps too, that would have been awesome. "Sound of jump" by Yuzuru Hanyu. What you think?Sorry, if someone has already commented to this effect.

Yuzuru actually said at 5:45,
"I’ll do perfect performances in the next competition. Definitely.
(Yuzuru said No-miss no engi = performance without any failure. No-miss is a typical Japanese English)
I will do practice so as to make a success of it.
Otherwise....., otherwise, it's not Yuzuru Hanyu."
The second part is omitted in many news clips and newspaper articles, and I'm afraid that gives a bit different impression to viewers or reader. I just don't like it
By the way, around 4:06 -
Yuzuru: It did not take so much time before making a success (of 4Lo). The control is difficult. It is difficult to explain by words, but you have to enter the jump "Shu!"![]()

Right at that time his poor foot was really bad, it hurt and swell and he had to use painkillers. I mean- the entire season with injury that was getting worse and worse. Good Lord and stubborn bunny. It is just something that I noticed happened often only recently post-NHK+GPF, and as you said it could be due to his physical condition.

Yes, I also got the impression after we learned more about the extent of his injuries that the performance at last year's nationals and World's this year was attributed to injury. Typically he's been very good at being able to execute the second half of his free program, even if he makes mistakes in the first half. Which is why I was a bit worried when he made those mistakes this weekend, that it may be that he is/was injured at Autumn Classic - from the sound of it he did sprain his ankle two weeks ago, but I was also worried that he didn't include the biellmann - the only times he hasn't done the biellmann was CoC and Nationals when he had the urachnal remnant that had ruptured. Overall though, I think this was probably about what I expected from him at this stage given his delay in training this summer.

Bielmann puts a lot of pressure to your back so if you are not in your best conditions back wise- you better give your back a break. Maybe he will let go of that spin, he has a new jump that is quite demanding too or maybe we will see that spin again at some point into the season. I'm not about to worry about this spin at this moment. I just wish that his spins remain fast, consistent and level 4 with max GOE. What spins he does to reach that is not really that important to me. Though I secretly wish that he does a new one.but I was also worried that he didn't include the biellmann - the only times he hasn't done the biellmann was CoC and Nationals when he had the urachnal remnant that had ruptured. I don't mind if he drops the Biellmann. It is not easy on the back at all. Even though I don't like Butt spin, I can tolerate Yuzuru's butt spin.Bielmann puts a lot of pressure to your back so if you are not in your best conditions back wise- you better give your back a break. BTW, Evegnia says her favorite program is The Phantom of the Opera by Yuzuru in an interview at CaOI :agree:
). However, it's sad we didn't get to see it at the level Yuzuru would've wanted (well thanks to injuries/operations:dev2: )
