Earphones obviously :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2: :laugh2:

Kind of interesting today... on the cbc skate america broadcast they were talking about the evolution of the quad jumps and both Carol lane and Kurt Browning said they believed that of the jumpers right now, Yuzu would be the one most able to do the 4 axel. Kurt said because of height and rotation needed, it would be Yuzu. Nice vote of confidence there for him.

Edit to add:watched it in west time zone and kurt said you have to look at air time and air time before and after rotation, the quality of the triple, therefore Hanyu.

I've been thinking that for a good long while but to be honest, the idea of a 4A scares me something awful. Yes, yes, harness, I know but still. Usually I am all gang ho over jumps but the 4A is something special.

Having said that, I'd probably keel over from happiness and excitement if he ever did it

Do you have a link to a video of that? I'd love to listen! I think Yuzuru's 3A technique just makes it so much more effortless than others. There's no hesitation and he can get the grip on the ice for the takeoff to get the power needed to push off so easily. Less muscling and telegraphing than many of the other men that makes it a hard jump to watch sometimes.

Not sure if the potential injuries would be worth the training though!

No video... from my memory they were just chatting on camera, showed the clips of the people who landed each quad first (starting with kurt, who said he had the freedom to try it because Brian B. And Brian O were fighting it out at the top) , and then after Yuzu's 4L clip, they said they thought he did that as a response to Shoma's flip in April... like a "don't forget about me" kind of thing. Then the host said that left just the 4A and she asked who they thought would be able/most likely to do it and Kurt said they had talked about it and it would have to be Hanyu because of height, rotation.

We all know the risks etc, everyone has discussed those, but aside from that, I would love to see him do it too. I really think he could, if that was his pure focus one year.

Add me to the list of people who would like to see him land it but... This kid is so prone to injuries that i'm not sure if i would be happy if we found out he was training for it. Though i can imagine him going all "ORE DAZO" and doing it anyway  And if that was the case, as long as it didn't take over 3A's place as his favorite jump...

I remembered this. He was trying to jump 4A here? I am also concerned about the likelihood of injury, but will be an unforgettable thrill to see him perform this jump in the future.

I'm already very happy with this

He won't try 4A for the Olympic. You don't have to worry about that. He knows it's dangerous. Maybe he will try it after Olympic just for ice shows.

This is so cool kiches ! Hope you'll have a great time in Skate Canada. I started to think about doing a banner for the GPF but I don't have enough imagination/creativity so I think I will just continue to admire yours and all the others

I'm not an artist or really all that creative! Anyone can make a banner, they really don't need to be fancy. I often see very simple banners with just Yuzuru's name, and I also see some that are obviously hand painted. I'm sure if Yuzu sees all the banners in the arena it'll help him feel our support :).

I"ll be sure to look for your banner, kiches!! Less than a week now  I am going to leave work early on Thursday so I can make practices.

I will go to Skate Canada next week. Hopefully I will meet you to say hello and ask for your gift. They are beautiful. Thank you.

Hope to see you both there :) Now that it's right around the corner I'm getting both excited and nervous at the same time.

You are a lovely fan :)

Ok, so one thing I've noticed at Skate America that I didn't pay attention at previous competitions was that Shoma was using a colar similar to Yuzuru's one with those magnetic stones that seems to be his lucky charm of some sort. I looked up to check and he also used it at Lombardia Trophy and Japan Open; but he wasn't using it last season. I think it's curious that it's actually very similar to Yuzuru's shape wise. And he was using these Phiten necklaces this summer too but that model that Sota also has. :luv17:
