No, the score couldn't have been higher to be perfectly honest, considering. Knock on wood that his knee is ok and we'll cross our fingers for him in the FS. Now, I am going to pass out.

Woke up in time for Yuzuru.
Can't say that I am surprised that he bombed his SP again for his first GP (in fact I half expected it). I hope he doesn't take it too hard on himself, there is still the FS tomorrow with a very demanding content. Don't beat yourself up so much, boy! You always manage to pick yourself up. I just hope he is okay physically and mentally.
And his LP is too much demanding. Gezzz this is really history again. Why they keep sending him to SC is another big question.

Well....that was something, but it's just the first big competition of the season :)
But this will fire him up for tomorrow.
I only fear hearing him say he is regretful....again :(

Well it's the closest he could get to Cricket club ^^ and him hitting a wall at the beginning of the season always means he's going to bring it big time later on ;)

Aww man... he looked very nervous when he started but in an almost 'too relaxed' way. He never gets enough power in his jumps when he's too relaxed for his edge jumps. The score wasn't too bad considering though...
I had exactly the same feeling, even from the practice.
It was the same last year, so it's OK. And slow start is good. But I would watch FP only later and not live. Too nervous, bad to my heart.:palmf:

Could the fact that the TCC is just around the corner affect his performance? The process of packing and traveling might make it feel more like a 'competition' for him and get him pumped up the right way.

I know this should not be an excuse but the skating order, after Patrick, is quite unfortunate too...

Judges are very generous with PCS for him; honestly I was thinking even lower total score since no combo and two scratching landings.

He is not perfect at the beggining of the season because he demands sooo much from himself. But he is perfectly capable of nailing it with more practice and then it will be stunning and unbeatable. I just hope he doesn't stress too much about doing it perfect just from the start.

I always assumed that "because it's close to where he trains" isn't such a mystery? you're the one who says he always messes up his first GP anyway  does it really matter where? He may as well mess up without jet lag

I think Yuzuru is always unlucky with SC. If it were me I would choose a different GP for him. But again... Maybe he will find another way to mess up first GP lol, been there done that.

Cheer up everyone, I know what happened in the SP is shocking but at least it's better than last year's Skate Canada when he scored 73.25 and placed 6th. Then in the free he did better and got silver overall, there's still hope! ;)

Considering he doesn't have to travel this time around + his condition, I am not all surprised both he and his team thought it was a good idea. I meant, he historically always bomb his first GP, should this really be a surprise to anyone by now? I hope he take it easy to be honest. He seems really dejected, I hope it doesn't get into him too much. His score was not bad considering the performance so I hope he gets his equilibrium back to perform the super demanding LP.

Lucky for Yuzuru that the Olympics happen mid season. Now if only they could move it to December. You know that you're use to him having bad starts to the season when you think "well, it could have been worse" :laugh2:
