Elizabet Tursynbaeva

I don't know why my last message doesn't appear :( I messed up with something:laugh:
About Liza,I loved her, I love how she sells this program, she is so tiny but she has such a strength! Shame about the weird fall, I was Orser in that moment:laugh:
The ladies at the spanish TV loved her https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YFLR_UzXohI
Anyway, If she does a good long program she could be on the podium. Wishing her luck!

I really love Elizabet's SP and I'm happy she decided to keep this program for this season. It suits her really well and she can sell the program so wonderfully.
Her opening 3Lz-3T was great and had a beautiful running edge out of the jump. Too bad on the silly mistake on her 2A, I really thought nailed it first and she made a mistake after jump was finished, but then I re-watched it and saw that she went off axis in the axel so this why she made the mistake.
No problem, it happens. :) She managed to finish the program really well and overall she did a great job!
I really hope she can get her first GP medal today. It's not impossible because she is really consistent, so I believe in her skating ;):agree: On the other side, there will be huge pressure for Julia and Elena (the latter seem to struggle with her jumps anyway) so an all Russian podium is not so sure at all.

I am late for the party but Liza was so amazing, her skating improved so much, her program was one of the few SPs which is really well choreographed , interesting steps and transitions.. shame on that 2A, she would have scored around 67 if not fall. She is not very much behind from the 3rd place , if she nails that beautiful LP she might get bronze . Go baby :yahoo:

what did they say?? :luv17:

The traslation of the spanish TV broadcast:
- Paloma: Here is Elizabet Tursynbaeva. She's 16 and she trains with Brian Orser. She's a powerful girl.
During the program:
- Paloma: She's so fast
Stsq:
-Paloma: OMG:laugh:
-Susana :What a phenomenom!
- Paloma : Sixteen years!
At the final of the program:
- Susana: What a shame!
- Paloma: She rushed at the 2A. She was doing a very difficult entry, but she was so fast that she lost control and she fell. But here she is eh, sixteen years!
- Susana: Impressive technique, the speed, the control of the rotation,so fast. For her the 2A is the easiest jump. What a shame! What great spins variations, the Stsq is terrific, I would love to see it again. She enjoyed a lot doing the coreography.
Paloma: Anyway, she's terrific. Terrific Tursynbaeva.

not Elizabet's best but it wasnt a disaster either, ahhh she started out so well!!
looking at protocols she left quite a lot of points on the table on her spins, getting a lvl2 and 3, if she hit those levels she would have medalled even with jump mistakes,
she seemed to be out of sync with the music , esp after 3F, she missed the timing for her 3S3T, her best jumping pass imo, (she hit it perfectly at SCAC, timing of that combo with the music is awesome! :luv17:) and from then on she played catch up, she really needs time to adjust herself to to 2+5 layout, when you are behind it messes up your timing for the rest of the program cause you still need to land rest of the jumps :dbana: her PCS was surprisingly high (not that i am complaining )

All in all, I thik Elizabet had a good outing. I think the mistakes she did will only motivate her to work harder on the programs, which IMO are both very good. I hope we'll have a chance to see them clean and developed later in season :) And it's awesome she's invited to Gala! :hap10:

yes, her mistakes were just enough to make her motivated without discouraging her, and i love what BESP commentator said about her transitions "its like mini step sequences between her elements", and it was funny when she said she googled what 147 cm is in feet and inces  here is her LP video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybuZJlkh1l0, i like this program more everytime i watch it, cant wait to see her skate it cleanly with all the nuances

and i just noticed she changed her blades this year,

Just watched her EX. I like her outfit giving that mature yet still young vibe (she looks cute :) ). I'm not keen on the EX but I think it'll grow on me once I've seen it more.

i think that EX s so much FUN!!! she hits every note, its more complex than many competetive programs :luv17:

Elizabet's SP with Universal Sports broadcast : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lKq_4E01OBw7
Tracy said quad isnt competition ready but looks great in practice!! :hap57::hap93: and she said Elizabet is trying to keep up with Yuzuru and Javier, ohhh tiny baby, you go for it!!! which reminded a interview of Brian where he said if there was space on ice Elizabet would fight with Javier to do her 3Lz

She is soooooooo cute and tiny! Great jumps and musicality. Still has a touch of 'junior' in her and needs to pace herself more in her programs. I saw her free skate this weekend from Moscow and she did seem to rush it a bit. Maybe take some of the busyness out of the choreography. But boy for a personality.. a spitfire!

From BO's interview: http://www.icenetwork.com/news/2016/11/10/208573330 - he mentions about Eli.

Another interesting case is Elizabet Tursynbaeva (from Kazakhstan, who just took fifth place at the Rostelecom Cup). Her mindset is to add all the mileage she can, by skating more hours and doing four run-throughs a day. I'm trying to make her focus on "run-through days" instead of doing them every day. I want them to be nervous run-throughs, important ones. I want her to learn to breathe. Each run-through has to be "the one" and not "I'll do the next one." I want her to sleep on it the night before and think, "Tomorrow, I'll do a big girl long program." Skaters may drift away from their strategy, and they need us to put them back on track.

Elizabet seems to be pushing the limits of what she can do and it's really nice to know-- well seeing her FP has that difficulty (btw, I can't help but think that she is somewhat influenced by Yuzu and Javi  )

4 run throughs a day?? talk about energy of youth  and its great that they are approaching each one as "the one", this way she will learn to adjust her programs in case she makes an early mistakes during the competition, i just hope she wont force herself too much :agree:

I hope for this as well. She can challenge herself as much as she want, even jump a quad next season if she can, so long as she stays injury free. :)
