I think she did some kind of face contouring , but didn't blend the makeup corectly. Also the foundation colour seems to be more yellowish. And she never put some colour lipstick. Always pale pink lips.
If you can be sure about something in FS, is that you never can't be sure.
20 points ahead is pretty impressive, but after one run it doesnt mean anything.
Maybe Pogo will think tommorow about bungee-jumping and falls back to her old
form when she faild 3 times in a single program. Or Medvedeva eats accidently
some illegaly imported mushrooms from Tshernobyl and suddenly starts to grow
and gets issues like Elena last year.
Also you must be fair to acknowledge that Elena must have been pretty nervous
according to the drama immediately before her program.

lets pray for them that nobody consume illegal mushrooms or make bungee- jumping. Nobody here said we are 100% sure how it will end up . I wrote most probably. And you don't have to take it so seriously. But If I look at their results from past competitions then I can see who has more chances and who less. That's it. I like Elena and wish her the best.
Not sure how people just know who will when Gold and silver at Rus Nats. who would have guessed Anna coming in 3rd at Worlds last season after she spent the better part of the season falling on the ice. You just don't know. This was Elena's first competition and her LP was right after whatever went on with Lip. Anything can happen at any of these competitions and as far as I am concerned all these girls are fighting for all three medal positions.
With Liza or even with Masha Sotskova or Polina Tsurskaya.
With Liza? Nope. Liza isnt at that level anymore.

You didn't miss much. Was the boring imagine-bs like the last season. But it is typical for her.

I saw her in some Petersburg-copetition few weeks ago, and she wasnt like WOW!
I think Imagine is one of her better Ex. When I see her do it she reminds me how beautiful a skater she is and gives me hope that she can do it.

It is to fall asleep. If the skaters use boring stuff in their programs, OK, not everyone can
be a Philippe Candeloro, but seriously, in a gala bringing such a bs, is :disagree:
If I have a chance to see Radionova at a gala, I wanna see her shaking her butt like she
did in the US at that Kose-thing, not moving like a nun in a church. However, that's the
Zeitgeist, where we cant have any nice things anymore ...

Obviously she is still not in good shape, in comparison to Anna and Yulia she was slow and heavy...
She has a lot work to do - is she willing to?
As for the program, it's nothing special, but it could've been worse. I wasn't expecting a groundbreaking art anyway (it's Turandot after all) just something that can reestablish her with the judges. My main problems with the program are
- where the hell is ChSq in it??? That something she is doing after steps (level2 btw) cannot be her choreo sequence? It's "Nessun dorma" for gods sake, you have to go big!
- her packaging. I think everything has been already said about her make-up :disapp: The dress is pretty, but it doesn't do anything for the program. Such an opportunity for this little star to go for exotic dress up, just google Turandot images. Pity the usual Turandot headdress is not suitable for figure skating, but why to go as this hardhearted princess in a contemporary lavender dress? She's got the attitude all right so she's probably seen something of this Opera...
Anyway her programs this season are better than the previous, so it's something positive.
I'm still waiting for The Art worthy her talents. Maybe next season.

@RadioFan - As I told piona (whom I suspect is you anyway), if you feel so negatively about Lena's choice of programs, maybe you should write it elsewhere, like the Rostelecom gala thread, NOT in Lena's fan fest... Or else, perhaps you should find a way to express your criticisms more constructively, like itoja did. THANKS!! :agree:
ANYWAY, *I* thought Lena looked absolutely BEAUTIFUL in her new dress.
And I felt like she looked more graceful than she has in the past, so it does seem like there has been incremental improvement in her use of her arms. :yes:The British Eurosport guy said that he thought it was the best he'd ever seen Lena skate, either in a gala or a competition.
Lena also said she didn't have time to prepare a new EX (hence she reused "Imagine"), but she might have a new one for CoC:

Ok, I didn't have a chance to share my thoughts about Lena's LP, so here goes:
1) Congrats on Lena on winning silver!
2) I loved her dress--so pretty!

However, I agree that I'm not sure it really fits "Turandot"--I would've liked something more exotic-looking...
3) I love Lena's grit. :agree: I was really impressed that she went for the 3F+3T after missing the initial combo. And I'm always impressed how Lena manages to nail the second 3Lz if she misses the first one.
4) Considering that this was Lena's first time running her LP in competition, her first time doing 5 jumping passes in the second half, and her first time doing 3Lz+1Lo+3S in competition, it turned out okay. This LP is harder than the ones she's done for the past 3 seasons.
5) But it's clear that Lena has A LOT OF WORK ahead of her. Her jumps are still not reliable; she still needs to work a lot more on polishing her programs and becoming more graceful. You know I really want Lena to win everything, but at this point, I wonder if it might be better for her to miss GPF and perhaps even Worlds in order for her to really work on these things...
6) As for the program itself, I do love "Nessun Dorma," but the program was only ok to me. I think that in her heart, Lena is a pop princess. She said it herself, she likes R&B and hiphop best. I know she gets criticized for her "trashy" programs, but I think she looked totally natural (not noticeably awkward) in "Worth It," and a program like that really lets her use her personality.
We'll see how Lena does at CoC, but it seems that Lena's still growing into her adult body, and until she gets used to her new figure, it's probably going to be tough... :yes: So keep fighting Lena!! We are supporting you!!
