There is a reason why Orser and Tracy are against Yuzuru adding more quads, their reason is pretty much legit. As he adds new quads, the quality of the skating might drop and his consistency is affected, his PCS might drop. They don't want that. And of course they want him to stay healthy. She doesn't seem pleased with him adding more quads either
She doesn't seem pleased with him adding more quads either
and he wants to win so I think both she and Orser are wrong. If even Chan is thinking four quads, it simply means - there's no choice any more. And Yuzuru still has one more season left to the OG so he's going to be fine.:rofl2: yuzu-palooza is my new favorite wordNotte Stellata with Tracy's commentary is uploaded

I loved the "出来る” at the end, he looks so confident it's reassuringhttp://dai.ly/x5157iv
This is PV of NHK cup starting being aired these days. The video itself was filmed on that practice days in middle of September. I don’t know if this is the first time this interview is disclosed.
As always, they introduces 4 loop after his injury.
He says what he is trying to do this season is a big challenge, but he is sure he can get so many achievements by going it through.
Then, they show his rivals, rising youngstars. But he says his biggest motivation is what he’s achieved until now. This is Olympics title or the highest scores of the world. They have a firm presence in him and such remarkable accomplishments make him move forward.
Further he says he’s never felt regret including the period he couldn’t do practice and he has no limitation. He strongly believes that he can.
There'll be no-one left alive in this fan-thread if he does! But if he does, well, if it's a party, let's have a party!
But considering Patrick seems to be thinking about a 4F and a four quad program...
That's the first song i thought about when you guys mentioned FFI think Zanarkand would be nice for an EX.![]()
I've been watching Notte Stellata maybe about 100 times since I fell in love with it at first sight(more than 10 times/day)
Now I noticed one thing. Besides this program is a great present from both T. Tarasova and D. Wilson to hearten up Yuzuru, who's got through a hard time, but it's a kind of thesis/homework from them to make him step up to the next stage as a skater and prepare for the Olympic season.
In this program, he shows each skating technique much longer than his competition programs. This requires the strength to keep his posture beautifully from his head to his toes. His skating is already fabulous, like floating, but IMO, there's still some room for improvement. I somehow understand what Ms. Pechalat mentioned at this point, though, I think he really should work on this program to gain more perfectly flawless skating skills.
Farthermore, having some room for improvement other than jumps is quite good for him not to get bored with his daily training and calm down his craziness for quads a bit
Of course, this is only my opinion, but go for it, Yuzu![]()

:rofl2: yuzu-palooza is my new favorite word
Nope. I can certainly see what she means because at SC I at least felt like he wasn't into the music totally but a part of him was still thinking and calculating. Which is normal considering the missed summer so he's still settling but once he does, she'll have the beautiful spins back and the full artistry.
The thing is, this is a sport, and gee I feel like this is my most used sentence latelyand he wants to win so I think both she and Orser are wrong. If even Chan is thinking four quads, it simply means - there's no choice any more. And Yuzuru still has one more season left to the OG so he's going to be fine.
This thread moves so fast I'm not sure if this has already been posted.

I actually think at this year's SC his FS performance is overall better than last year's SC. Aside of the popped sal and the downgraded loop, the quality of his jumps and other elements are generally better than what he put out there last year. I agree about the spins though, we have seen better days. Besides, aside of increased tech, he was off-ice and off-training for 2 months and was injured. I think at that particular moment, considering the circumstances, those would have been as good as we would have gotten from him.
I heard from one of the video I watched from Japanese TV broadcast (?) where they caught the conversation from Brian and Yuzuru before his post-FS interview, seems like Brian planned to focus on choreography until the next GP and shift focus from jump (forgot where the video was, sorry). So we might see a more polished interpretation of the program at the next event :luv17:

Yes, I remember that from Brian, though shoot me if I know which interview either but I understood as well that they'd be working on choreography. I think it even implied improving it, which I can see especially in the first part of the program but with his stamina going up this is far more doable too. I can't wait either ... and it's three more weeks!![]()

Also about Brian and Tracy, they were skeptical at first when Yuzuru add the quad in his SP (at least from what I see from numerous interview from both of them). I think even David wilson and Jeffrey buttle was like :hpull: too (from TSL interview with wilson lol). But once he managed to pull it off they were all smiles hahahah. I don't think there is a sure formula/strategy that can assure anyone of winning things, but Yuzuru of all people is the one who can take the most risks so I am fine with his strategy so far. I just wish for his happiness and health.![]()
So many people are injured and withdrew recently (Sota, Lipnitskaya, d10, dice, polina edmunds etc)
Stay healthy everyone.
P.S : Anyway it has become our problem every time Yuzuru competed/performed. There will be like dozens of news clip and interview footage and I will be like : "ok which one of all these 100 video that I have not watched". And after watching majority of it I would be like : "ok where is that video where he said this thing, or did that thing" :rofl2:

The diagrams of Mr. Hanyu's step sequences this season.
Oh, have you taken photos at Skate Canada? So jelous of you. Taking photos at figure skating competition is very difficult. the light is limited and especially yuzu is so fast!
About Nynny, I’ve got into her photos since @alia introduced her to us at Worlds 2016. One of my hobbies was Single-lens reflex camera and collectetd the cameras and lenses before. Her photos are totally beyond those by a fan. Further, she shouldn’t use a tripod, which must be prohibited. Her technique is stunning. Her profile is a editer. Thus, she must have trained herself with taking photos as her ocupation. Ive heard that in figure skating competition, many are using Canon’s, but i really am interested in the kinds of her cameras and lenses. Im sure she uses several kinds of lenzes.
her blog (She staerted her blog after Boston, the pages are full of lovely photos. She is talented as a writer also.)
http://ameblo.jp/ninny-yuz/entrylist.html
I looked up her blog and twitter seraching for the explanation about her cameras, but i couldnt find any.
BTW, about her recent article, my favorite page is this,

The Shibs posted a vlog of the ice 2012, you can see Yuzuru splitting the watermelon

Sorry if it was posted already!
The most viewed video of GPF 2015 Seimei has now reached 2.000.000 views.
Even though the sound is out of sync
And there's also several other videos of this performance with lots of views too. I think one can say that at the moment, Yuzuru seems to be the biggest draw to figure skating. With Mao and Shoma performances coming a bit behind in video popularity right now. not that Youtube views are any that much valid measure but just a fun thought
Japan surely is a major audience for figure skating.
Found this on tumblr
How nice of our boy
And thanks to you TAT!
Right now I was watching CoR 2016 live on some russian sports channel, and Tatiana Tarasova was one of commentators. She said, that yestetday some person from Japan Skating Federation came to her and gave her a present, saying, it was from Hanyu. The thing is, that one day before this 2016-2017 season started, Tarasova found a nice peace of music. She thought it would fit pefectly for Yuzuru’s exhibition program and just sent it to him. Hanyu actually liked it and decided to use it. So as a thank you he sent Tarasova his own photo, skating this very program with some cute sign on it and also a letter on two pages.
Anyway.
Tarasova about Hanyu
The video bit where Tarasova talks about the letter. Yes, the photograph is in costume, he said to dear Tatiana , etc. Someone who is much better at Russian than me can get the whole thing, it's very short.
Our dear Fairuza's translation of Tat's comment about Yuzuru's gift to her:
-----
TAT: You know I had a nice surprise yesterday - the Japanese Federation found me yesterday and gave me a gift from Hanyu. I had sent him some music. I had the music and I thought it would be good for his Ex. He was in his costume - there was a photograph - with 'To Dear Tatyana' written on it, the photograph of the ex, and a two-page long letter of gratitude. They gave me all that yesterday and I was stunned, since it's not usually done with us (Russian athletes) - thanking a coach for...
Gr: Why isn't it done?
TAT: Well, that's the way things are... I was very pleased, very-very touched. Thank you, Hanyu!
Translation of this video Xylitol cm, behind the scene and interview by Yuzusorbet.tumblr
CM:
Yuzuru: “After break time? Wh…ite~~…. Come, smile!”
CM-making:
0:24- Can you play the music a bit please? (he practises the movements)
0:49- Is the tone of my voice ok? It was so high.
1:16- I want to do it again with more of a smile. I did it so seriously.
1:38- (in a deep voice) Come, smile! (laughs) It will be recorded at the same time, right?
1:50- Wh…ite~~, sorry can I do it again? My pitch was really off. It is so difficult to do!! I always feel that quads are easier to do than recording. (laughter)
Interview:
Q: Your feelings after the shoot?
Y: The theme this time is like from the Middle Ages. I enjoyed filming it.
Q: How do you spend your break time?
Y: I really like TV games. When I am tired…. or maybe even when I am not tired (laughs)….. I play TV games, listen to music, watch TV. I have a quiet rest at home.
Q: Things that make you smile?
Y: I really like machines. I enjoy looking at machines and headphones. (laughs) Like right now, I am very interested in the headphones that Mr Soundman is using; I want to check out the brand. (laughs)
Q: In the CM, you shouted, 'White!’ Do you have any kind of ‘shout’ to yourself before a competition?
Y: My brain and my heart, the calmness and passion, to fuse them together, I always talk with Coach Brian Orser before a competition.
Q: In the CM, you had a bit of difficulty saying 'Wh..ite~~!’
Y: Yes I can’t help feeling a bit frustrated about that. I still think I didn’t do it well. (laughs)
Q: Performing on ice is easier?
Y: Yes, it is. Doing a quad loop is definitely easier. I think I will be practising earnestly tonight! (laughs)
Q: What is something white that you cannot do without?
Y: The skating rink. I like the rink in my hometown Sendai the most. It is the rink where I first started skating… it has a warm image for me.
Translation of P&G’s ‘Message to Yuzu’ event by Yuzusorbet.tumblr
During the dreadfully long off-season this year, when Yuzuru was in Toronto recovering from injury, and his participation at all Fantasy On Ice shows were cancelled, P&G invited fans to write their messages of support to him either online in their website (for members only) or at ice show venues. All the messages were put into an album and given to him. From P&G article dated 31 Oct 2016:
His eyes opened wide at the size of the box and the thickness of the album. He was surprised at the amount of messages. He started reading them immediately and a smile naturally spread across his face. He looked at the messages slowly one by one, murmuring with deep emotions, “So many people are supporting me…..”
The heartfelt support from everyone has surely become strength for him. Thank you to all who sent in their messages! And this is the message he wrote:
“Many messages have been delivered to me; everyone’s thoughts and feelings have not been in vain. To these thoughts and smiles, I can continue to skate with my best efforts. Really, thank you so much.”

P&G Requests/Questions for Yuzu, part 1 (28 Oct 2016)
During the off season, P&G asked fans to send in requests or questions for Yuzu and he will pick 3 to do or answer. Here they are:
Q.1) You devote yourself to practice every day. Do you have a good way to change the mood/take a break?
Y: I am rather the type that can switch off and on very precisely. When I am not training, I am always relaxing! I treasure the things that I want to do then.
Q.2) You often travel around the world (for competitions). Is there a country that you want to visit for a private trip?
Y: Because I am currently living in this way (training in Toronto), there is no foreign country that I want to go to. If anything, I just want to be living comfortably in Japan!
Q.3) Living in Toronto, what is it that you feel is really different from living in Japan?
Y: In my case, because I am very conscious of the fact that I am in Toronto for skating, I feel that it is an environment where I can focus on skating. Besides that, the taste of foodstuff is a bit different from Japan. That is why I sometimes think, ahh I want to eat Japan’s rice.
-YUZU Album- Toronto photo1, photo2, photo3
Y: Toronto is clean and safe, and is a nice place to live in. Although it is a big city, there is a lot of nature, which is one thing that I like.
This is Raisport. The female commentators usually are Arianna Secondini and Franca Bianconi and the man is Fabrizio Pedrazzini (ex ice dancer). In these videos he's commentating only him and a woman i don't know.
SP:
Woman: Yuzuru Hanyu, 21 y.o
P: The alien like we love to call him, because he has shows us things.. and he is an idol in Japan, and he's incredible. Let's see what he presents us today on the music of Let's go crazy of Prince
w & p: Oh wahh
P: Big error in the 4L at the beginning
P: Only 3S
P: Fabolous 3A
w: Fabrizio here we came down a little in the tech aspect but there is more partecipation (interpretation), maybe because music his is hobby
p: Less tech, more talent. This boy is a talent through and through
P: He didn't entusiasm me like other times, because in the first part there were too many errors in the jumps, the almost fall, i saw him less present. But in the second part i appreciated very much how he followed completely the musical aspect
P: 37 in the tech
p: before he leaves the ice he bows, because in Japan there is the culture of thanking the ice. Very cute thing. He thanks the audience and the ice.
w: very cute
p: here with his coach Brian Orser, looking not very happy, slightly worried
w: The first results are coming. For the performance 8.71, not low,not high
p: Absolutely speaking is not bad, but we are talking about the olympic champion so
w: it was expected something more
P: Yes, too many errors. The 4l was not even called 4l, so very low GOES. 3S was the 4S.
p: This is the 4l, look how he lands forward, so he lost the points
P: He lost the combination. Very difficult landing so -2 Goes
p: Marvelous 3A, jumped from a very difficult step.
P: Too many errors
p: Beautiful spins, very fast.
p: In the Steps a great musical involvement. Very natural.
w: He kind of compensates the tech. element with something more captivating
w: 79.65. Very low
p: very low. If you consider his personal best is 110.95
One minute and I'll post the FP.
FP:
W: Now the men. We begin in style with Yuzuru Hanyu. 4th after the short.
P: Great delusion in the short program, but he made errors in 4l, 4s, in the jump elements except the 3A.
P: The Alien, let's call him that. Because like him (there are) very few
P: And 4L, like in the short the rotation was not complete
P: 4S
P: 3F
P: Only 2S+3T
P: 4T
W: The alien
P: 3A+2T
P: 3A+3S
P: 3LZ. Like it's nothing
P: Oh (at Yuzuru's loss of balance)
w: One smear. Too bad, until now he was in unison with every note
p: He has an incredible musicality
w: the music is his hobby, it shows. He integrates himself with the music
p: He has the capacity of highlighting every element with the music. I have in mind some of his performance where after 3 seconds I had goosebumps
p: look how much the audience loves him. Look at the plush toys. His lucky charm is Winnie the Pooh.
W: Indeed look how many there are
p: He is an idol, he can go on the ice distancing incredibly all the others
P: Seeing him live it's impressive how natural he is, his rotations
P: Here he's hugging his coach Brian Orser
w: Brian Orser that with Tracy Wilson coaches this very young alien
p: very young alien, he comes from another dimension
P: He is very thin so he has a rotation in the air, a speed. And you know what he does? He does everything like it's so simple. Now he presented 4L,4S,4T in the second half so he has the bonus. But he start, goes, jump like it's nothing
p: and he is extremely humble. Always thanking
P: Look at the fans in tears, how they follow him
P: Look here, 4L, see the lightness, but the landing, the right toe is too forward
P: This is the 4S, look how natural when he goes in the air, and relaxed when he lands. Like he's saying is so easy (? i could't hear)
w: fluid
p: this is the 4T. Here the landing is a little more forced, he didn't kick the free leg fast enough
p: 3A3S. Look at his technique, of course he has it otherwise he couldn't jump at this level, but it's not rigid. Natural
w: 183.41. he goes in the lead. tech 96.29 and the deduction for..
p: ..something was considered a fall
does anyone feel his fp is kinda bland?
After his 3f, there is 20 secs before the quads he basically doing nothing. And why is he not doing his fancy entry into 3a?![]()

I'm sorry if this is irrelevant, but I have spent so much time arguing against this idiot who's spewing conspiracy theories about the 2014 CoC collision incident and I am so done.
In hindsight replying to a Youtube comment like that was a horrible idea, but I really just couldn't let it pass.
