???? Konstantinova won the competition. Sakhanovich was second. Tennell was third. Mariah was fourth.

U.S. Nats is shaping up to be even more unpredictable than I thought :hap85: Especially after Karen's showing at NHk and CoC. Her jumps aren't all there, but she is close to the top in terms of artistry. For contnders we've got Ashley and Gracie and Mirai of course, but also Mariah, Courtney, Karen, and Polina. Then there's a huge pool of dark horses, including Bradie and Tyler and Angela. Any of these ladies could rise to the occasion (and rotate their jumps) and make the podium.

I feel like she was underscored on her aristry, she fills up the ice with personality. I've always loved her skating and I hope she finds consistency!

Karen turned 17 in August, so time is on her side. Mariah and Courtney are 20, Gracie is 21. Polina is 18, but who knows if she will be back in shape.
Karen choreographed her own programs this season, which shows the depth of her talent. I think she should work with a jump specialist if she does not change her coach to put everything together.

Wow! By herself or with Lambiel? I thought I heard a commentator mention this, but I could be mistaken.
She choreographed her FS. I believe Jonathan Cassar, former U.S. men competitor (famous for his incredible spread eagles), choreographed her SP to "On Golden Pond."
By the way, I think Cassar is and up-and-coming choreographer. He also choreographed Courtney Hicks' programs as well. I really love Karen's SP and Jonathan did a great job with all the different touches.

Without any insider's info, I was totally relying on her wiki for information. I believe the concept of the peacock for her sp, which someone mentioned is a reference to a famous Chinese folk dance, comes from herself.
I haven't seen Caitlin on a competition list in a long time. I believe I saw her name on a competition two years ago, but I think she withdrew. It's a shame.

Yeah, she looked so promising as a well rounded skater in some of her skating videos on YT from the 2010-2011ish period.
According to the Japanese entry of Leah Kaiser her "current" coaches are Todd Sand and John Nicks and Tammy Gambill is listed as one of her former coaches but Tammy was with Leah at the 2015 US Nationals, so she switched to Sand and/or Nicks last season or this season, I suppose.

I think that Gracie will come soaring back for Nationals. I think that even in her poor performances during the Grand Prix, she began to show more performance even during subpar programs. I think this might be the turning point where we get to see well-rounded artistic and technically strong Gracie. She's not done. I wish she'd just stop listening to chatter and jump for the love of jumping and just be the best her. She's got it within her reach!

I really hope you are right! So far she has looked out of shape to me and her timing seems way off. I know she is a fighter, but the clock is ticking, so I hope she's already working hard for Nationals.

I fully expect that Gracie will come into Nationals in top shape. Whether that allows her to successfully execute two clean programs is entirely another question. She can afford a couple of major errors and still make the podium because of her high PCS and GOE on elements she completes cleanly. She just can't have a complete collapse in her LP.
Leah Keiser stopped skating/competing in 2015 (she didn't enter Regionals last season). She currently is a freshman at Northwestern University in Chicago.
