Satoko Miyahara

oh wow, the book she is holding is Sun Tzu's "The art of war" I always knew she was the smart and educated girl but I would never imagined she is into military strategy and tactics
Bravo, Satton ! it is one of my favorite books. We share taste
Frankly it is normal for East Asian young people to read this book. I watched series and dramas about it when It was 8. And I read it when I was in middle school. Our culture is tied to Chinese closely, that's why.

. Haha, I remember your obsession with battle of 3 kingdoms and Zhuge Liang 😀

I prefer Chronicles of the Eastern Zhou Kingdoms more. But nevertheless Zhuge Liang is my most favorite. I think Satoko is a cleaver girl, she certainly is fascinated by the art of war.

Hmmm... sounds kinda she has (or had got) something like inferiority complex because of being small... That's not good...

I wouldn't say it's as serious as a complex, in the video they emphasized the fact that although she was 2nd in TES at Worlds, she was 7th in PCS even though she delivered a clean, beautiful program. So she thought maybe she's not projecting enough (I've seen several people criticize her for that on this forum) and took lessons on how to move her body in order to appear bigger.

Satoko's non jumps have always been very good and I think she has been underscored in the components as she has a more subtle style instead of the big extroversion traits that are easier to appeal to the audience. This season, it is also clearer she is taking more risk in attempting to jump higher, prerotate less and causing her to get < hits but she should stick to it. In the short term, she may lose out but it will only benefit her in the longer run considering her determination and strong work ethics.

This isn't Olympics season yet, so yes she will eventually benefit from her efforts giving how much of a hard worker she is. I'll arrive in Marseille tomorrow and may be able to arrive at the ice rink in time to catch her practice (first time gonna see my Tiny Queen for real!), I really cannot wait to seeing how she's fairing!

Thanks! I'm sure I will, regardless on how Satoko will do, I just hope she'll be happy with her performances and leave Marseille with a smile.:)
I'll give a little insight on how things went tomorrow. I wonder if she'll practice SP or FP... probably SP first.

Adorable Yuzuru & Satoko fanart

Yuzuru: Just a little bit more (mou chotto)
Satoko: - hangs little box on his finger -
- the box opens and there's a "Happy Birthday" note in it -
Yuzuru: Satton? What's this?
Satoko: More importantly Yuzu-kun, please send me those pictures of me and Domo-kun.
Yuzuru (I think?): Now?!

Well! Trust my luck to make me miss a lot of Satoko today!
My train was late, I had the "bright" idea to be in the queue for souvenirs and there were many people, then I went to get ticket for practice BUT they didn't take credit card, so I had to leave the arena to get cash, and when I finally came AND got into the ice rink... much too late to see her SP run-through. I think there was only 10 minutes left of practice.
I, at least managed to take a video of her doing part of her LP program, including a nice 2A-3T:

She and Kaetlyn were the only ones on the ice. The Russian ladies left Russia very early in the morning for Marseille (I mean, Zhenya tweeted about Yuzu's BD at 5AM lol), so they skipped practice to get some rest.
Well, not a bad thing to get the whole ice rink nearly for yourself lol! For what I saw she looked good, mostly working on her 3-3 combo, obviously to avoid carrots...

Well, she was gonna skate first no matter what so lets cheer up and have faith! :cheer: good luck to our Tiny Queen!

As long as she stays calm, I think she will do well despite the draw to compete first. Best wishes for her at GPF.

I'm at the rink and Satoko did an almost clean SP run-through: when jumping her 3Lo she had to delay it as there were quite a few Russian ladies in the same area. So she jumped it late, very close to the board and step out. Nothing worrying, tho.
