That sounds quite serious not to mention painful! So many agile skaters who balance on knife boots are really clumsy just walking on the ground.
Get better soon. :sad21:
On Dec. 18, while walking back from training, Julia Lipnitskaia fell on a slippery sidewalk. She has damaged her hip axis along with her lower spine. The diagnosis is a post-traumatic cervical arthritis along with a right hip bone bruise.

Thanks to all who watched it anyway, and sorry if I left some skaters out. Russia is so full of talent I would have to make a mini-series to get all of them.Ugh what a stupid injury from Yulia, how could she fall on a slippery sidewalk? What was she doing?

Some people just have rotten luck with doing things billions of people do and not walk away from it un-injured. I wonder if some of the other injuries she has been dealing with over the last few years contributed to this injury being as severe as it is?
A colleague of mine fell on an icy slippery pavement in Moscow and got multiple fractures of her ankle. Another fell and broke her arm. Unexpected falls are very dangerous.
hi! im a real big fan of anna pogorilaya and i was just wondering, what do russian fans think of her? i know they really loved julia during the olympics and that liza was a huge hero cuz of her family upbringing (her dad passed away when she was young or something) and now apparently medvedeva is the new idol star (although i dont know what her upbringing was like)
what are russian fans' thoughts on anna? is she really loved there?
i honestly think she should have won this gpf, or at least gotten 2nd. i think her artistry is way superior than medvedeva's and she just has this sensual air about her skating... yet there is also this silent intensity and i really love that it's such a deep quality she has to her performances and i cant wait to see her slay at nationals
I have not read russian FS boards recently. They are sometimes quite nasty about skaters. Adelina vs. Yulia has died down. Now the hate is more towards Zhenya. So I cannot say that Medvedeva is 100% idol star among Russian fans.
.

Do you have any idea why that is? I mean, you couldn't have asked for a better competitor - girl just always delivers. I understand why Evgenia isn't the most loved skater on this forum but if I were a Russian and a skating fan, all that 'tano is stupid and backloading sucks' talk wouldn't bother me. I'd be like 'suck it you foreign haters, y'all just jealous cause that's how Russia rolls'![]()
There is no simple answer to why Medvedeva has never become an idol in Russia.Do you have any idea why that is? I mean, you couldn't have asked for a better competitor - girl just always delivers. Some Russian fans have been blaming her for becoming Tutberidze's favorite child in place of Julia.
There has been also a nationalistic sentiment in Russian forums because of the fact that Evgenia is not 100% ethnically Russian. She is half Armenian and has been subjected to a lot of bullying on social media sites because of that.
Medvedeva is not very outgoing (compared to let's say Radionova) and I think she may have been not very successful in promoting her own popularity among Russians. (That being said, she is extremely popular in Japan because of her love for anime)
I also think that Medvedeva's image on ice is not as sensual as Radionova's, Pogorilaya's, or even Tuktamysheva's. As we all know, it is much easier for a female skater (as well as any other female performer) to sell a more sexualized image of herself. So Medvedeva may be losing some votes in that area too.
Really medvedeva is not that popular in Russia?and to think she's the it girl now..
