Got to think it's 3 from Evgenia, Alina, Polina T, Anna P and Liza T (if she can get her 3A back). Who else can realistically get the international 215 or so that would be required. If Alina/Polina can't make the transition to seniors though, the 3rd place would really be up for grabs (think in that circumstance Anna P would have a lock on the 2nd spot).

It's gotta be really interesting who will be the two Ladies going into the Olympics besides Evgenia. With new junior superstars arriving on the scene, but I still think that if Anna keeps her form they should send her. I just cannot see Sotskova making an artistic leap to be a real engaging skater in a year.

Polina - yes. (for me Polina T. surpasses Sotskova in all aspects. She is technician, artist, and performer. Her delayed jumps are everything.)

It is going to be very hard for Medvedeva next season. Of course she now built her PCS cushion but it just too bad her peak did not fall on Olympic season. I still think she will make the team but I doubt she will actually win Oly Gold. I expect an upset.

To me that is true. CSKA's skaters are usually pushed (Buyanova is the "most supported"), but i think also the Federation put trust on some coaches who knows they can produce great skaters at the international stage: for example they trust Eteri with the ladies now (while few years ago i remember some of her skaters including Lipnitskaia and Medvedeva being underscored at nationals), and i think now they're trying to support Chebotareva as well (looking Konstantinova and Kolyada's scores)

It depends from case to case, but yes in general, CSKA's skaters are helped just like every Frank Carroll's student in the US for example.

Pogorilaya though i think it's different because even internationally judges are not supporting her as much as other top skaters, (Miyahara for instance) i don't know why honestly.

Because even Russian Fed doesn't support Anna... that's way she is on her own out there . And in this situations she has to be way better than her contenders to win over them . Life is cruel for some:hopelessness:

I really hope Radionova stops being the prettiest girl in the room and gets her s... together. She has an actual chance to make the world team.

It's not interesting, it's sad. Sotskova should go to Worlds. On her two meetings face to face to Radio, the score is 2-0 for Sotskova. And by some margin. I hope Radio takes advantage of her long off season and starts to work on her issues.

I think the Russian Fed would be smart to send Radionova but I also think that it's better for Radionova if she can work on her issues, so that she can come back strong next season.

Thought Sotskova and Anna P both looked flat at Europeans. Must be very hard to peak 3 times in a season - Russians just to qualify, Euros (where not expecting that much competition in the overall scheme of things - apologies to Carolina), plus Worlds. Also kind of 4 times, given GPF. Can forgive them both, expect Russian Nationals was shattering in its way - see Elena's reaction at the end of her FS.

At least they are not as negative as they used to be. I think the people who support those threads have given up. They no longer expect a magical advent of clean Gracie, "a superior skater". The remaining primas of the past era: Mao and Caro cannot challenge her - now everyone admits that. The last "saviour" is Osmond. But only the most die-hard Medvedeva's "fans" profess now that Kaethlyn stand a chance for gold at the worlds.

What is left? Some grumbling about Zhenya's URs, flutz, tanos, breaking the rules, inappropriate program or inappropriate smile after the inappropriate program. This stuff is quite harmless.

It's clear that Tutberidze group has an impressive pipeline of juniors. What I meant, though, that in multiple previous threads dedicated to Medvedeva she was often named as "Russian girl des jours", "A king (well, here a queen) for an hour". At least now she made even those fans believe that she came here to stay...at least for the time being.

I think quad girl was supposed to be Shcherbakova. Not sure how that quad will hold up to puberty though. Not every skater in Eteri's group is likely to stay super slim through the hips after the puberty monster.
