Should play a drinking game at the start of men's FS then. A shot for every fall or pop but no drinking on stepout, 2ft, ot, or hands down. Pretty sure by the time Yuzu skate we would already be knocked out.
The last time he play catch up was for SC I think? He was 11 points behind Chan lol. Honestly I am really not holding my breath. He is not a free skate skater but the top 2 are. But at the same time I hope he uses this opportunity to shake the jitters off of whatever problems he had in the FS. Especially that damned 4S3T. You probably would have known that of all people, I have been frustrated about it for a long long time

:laugh2: If we do that, and pass out, want to bet he'd skate a WR?!
(but I am totally down for the drinking game)

Yes, SC but it's SC. You know, he's going to have to learn to be a FS skater. At least to the point where while not perfect he can churn out a satisfactory clean program. But yes, hopefully he does. And I feel you, if he'd just land that ruddy 4S-3T, I'd be happy!

But maybe chasing this time will push him, in a way leading would not. He has his pride and deep down, even with the happy face, there is no way that third place sits well with him.

The universe keeps pushing him skating 2nd to teach him a lesson. He has to learn to live with it if he wants to archive greatness.
This is why I am so mad at him right now. I am thinking he will do okay-ish LP cause it's just him. I am not optimistic he can win cause there's quite a gap in SP.
I am just mad he let the skating 2nd demon affect him over and over again.

He really psyche himself over skating 2nd/3rd, didn't he? At worlds last year, the year before, the olympics. But this is not really something he can control. He can't expect himself to skate first or last all the time, he needs to find a way to overcome it. But at the same time I am not sure if there is a way to do that either though, it is all in his head.
Anyway 6 pts are not a horrible gap. Javi was 12 pts behind at worlds, and come out with a 20+ pts gap ahead of him. But it does need the top 2 to crumble for that. But again ice is slippery, so anything can happen. The constant remains that he still need to skate lights out.

Well, 6 pts are not a horrible gap especially for men. We have seen Javi caught up and lead by 20 pts after a 12 pts gap. But these need the top 2 to leave the door open. He still need to skate lights out anyway. Can't really depend on how the others will do. I can't believe I still have to worry about 4S it has been 5 years lol.

Anyway yes bring on the alcohol. But f you are like this during 4CC, I can't imagine world and olympics. Should have 911 on speed dial in the case of alcohol poisoning.
[SUB]If it takes getting you completely wasted to get him WR I would gladly mail you 3 bottles of vodka every competition [/SUB]

That's what came to my mind as well when I was watching that. I feel like maybe he's trying to make Yuzuru take the 'Javi route', since he said Javi's a better competitor because of that. I just don't think one size fits all in this case.

If you watch programs of Brian Orser as a skater and then watch newer Javier programs you can definitely see that Javier is Brian's pupil. He looks almost like a clone, his whole body movements. I think he molded Javier after himself in a way. But Yuzuru remains to have his own style and doesn't look like Brian Orser 2.0. He does best when he skates to programs he likes. I think I read in this thread that Orser said that the programs this season aren't the real deal and not what he would've chosen, that the Olympic programs will be better. I totally disagree, I think that the combi of Let's go crazy and Hope and Legacy is the best Yuzuru had yet. I think Yuzuru's programs like Seimei and Hope and Legacy are so true to his own self and not what other people thought he should skate to. He will go his way, and I pray that we will see at least Hope and Legacy clean once before it gets chafted for something of 'better quality'.

group meeting at the bar  I can drink my breakfast

I thought we were gonna go for the pot noodles for breakfast. *looks sad*
I think I may have an actual problem here. I don't drink. Is there some alternative stuff out there that'll get me in the right mood? ;-)

The only person who can get mad about this is Yuzuru Hanyu himself. And if you ever have a good suggestion regarding skating well no matter whichever starting order is, I believe it would be highly appreciated; otherwise I don't see the point here.

Oh well Yuzuru hasn't skated clean LP for a while, he is on the losing side here. I have no doubt he won't give up in the free. What makes me mad is that he let himself be affected by the skating order again and again and again. I am really mad right now.
Even if he wins this competition, I am still mad cause he hasn't learned his lesson at all. It's not about winning this competition anymore. It's not Olympic yet. Frankly I don't even care about WC next month. What I am mad is that he hasn't learned a single bit.

I thought you were Dutch, if so, it should be obvious
Joking aside, chocolate. It really is a good alternative. You just turn into a blimp eventually but things we do for Yuzuru.

Where Yuzuru stands now, imo he's already achieved greatness and will continue doing so until he isn't able. We can lower expectations but I'm actually :( that you're not optimistic he can win.

Am I the only one here thinking this might not be the end of the world - or the end of the battle either?
I'm not angry at him - he was still giving it all, and it was an excellent skate apart from the combination and maybe the spin after it. I'm inclined to think he might have been underscored in PCS. :)
It's as if he's getting back into top form...

It's not end of the world or the battle, and I agree. There is still the FS and the chance to move up the ranks, thus it'll be interesting. Cheering always for Yuzuru!!! :hap10:

You're from the Netherlands, you should know. ;)

It really isn't...I think everyone is still pretty wounded up so it feels a lot worst now. Or maybe I put a little something in my morning coffee and the :drama: hasn't hit me yet.

I'm Asian. I mean, I believe I was born Asian in a Dutch (blonde, blue-eyed) body. I hate boiled potatoes and I love rice and noodles, I cannot walk on wooden shoes, speed skating on ice is the most boring sports in the world, and I'm completely ignorant of anything that you can apparently smoke or inject or sniff in this country. Or drink, for that matter. :slink:

Chocolate, now that I can do. :yahoo:

Same, I'm still waiting for the :drama: to hit me, it's probably related to the homework I haven't finished and I have to leave my house in 20 min lol

I wish I could drink a bit now, but the stuff is just poison for me for now. So is chocolate. :(
Can one get drunk on tea?

From personal experience - yes! Just drink A LOT (obviously not too much though, for your health and stuff) and you will be very energized - a kind of high  I might join you on that since I can't really be hangover this weekend :palmf:

Edit: Actually screw it, I need some alcohol, I might just do both :palmf:

It's not of course. I am actually in a fine mood because he reacts better than I expected. We shall see how it will be after FS
Though I think he was scored alright. I won't give a skate with a pop 48 PCS, honestly. He still make a mistake afterall and his performance does look more subdued after the mistake.

Not excusing for Yuzu but god bless you he is not robotic:cool14:I have said, it is all about experiment. Was he really that bad? I would say it is much better than I thought he could have been. Be more appreciating would not make you look dumb:cool:but surely one shot of vodka might do that
