But really... i don't want people to say he is over it that his star is falling. That's what worries me.

Channel your energy instead to love and positive thinking towards Yuzu. May he be healthy practicing for Worlds and go there in his best condition

Yes, great comeback but I got to admit, I'm disappointed in him with his pop on the 4S. That jump is usually consistent but now it looks like he's having some sort of psychological problem with it in both programs. He needs to get it together before Worlds because I can see him lose again to Nathan (that kid is made out of steel!). I feel like he does get coached well by Brian but people are different and handle pressure differently. A "you can do this" therapy might not work on him compare to other skaters. He might need some other psychological method. I think Yuzuru isn't even a psychological kind of person but more in the lines of spiritual. He probably believes in "fate". I recalled that there was a time when he was placed 2nd in the last group for the SP, he started to doubt himself and believed that he's done for. He must stop thinking that these situations are out of his control. He's capable of winning, but it comes down to him, not the atmosphere or fate.

I don't think he's that disappointed. He was finally in his fighting mode at the end and he's proved to himself that he could do it, and that is the most important thing. It's no longer just kuyashii in a hopeless and an unsurmountable manner that can just spiral into depression. He has found a way to get to the right mode mentally and I think this will be a good motivator for him training for Worlds. I can't wait for Worlds now.

Also, he got level 4 for step sequence and all the spins! I hope that he didn't do the Biellman only because he didn't practice it much and focused more on the jumps. Doing the Biellman must be tiring too and he needed to conserve his energy.

Finally exhaled. He left a lot of points on the table in both the SP and LP. He still has room for a small mistake even if Nathan goes clean. This is a nice lesson for him to take to Worlds and Olympics. Also that quick improvise at the end shows he can keep a steady head after a big mistake. All good things tbh.

3 trips to 4CC, 3 Silver medals. Line them up side by side with your SC silvers Yuzu lol. Make a collage I'm so so proud of him here. Good job Yuzuru.

Yup, base value has become a huge thing now. I wonder if 4Lutz will be worked on more for next year because while he may have more transitions etc., that won't always be the case and in any case might not be rewarded... upping base value, however....

While a bit sad Yuzu didn't win, his reaction to his skate shows a different story. Now (imho), there is a target for yuzu heading in to world's... he always does better when he has a target and has to fight so this is a good thing.

and he didn't do his Biellmann... issues after all?

CBC did not show this live on tv... it was just online streaming, so there is no commentary. They may show this next weekend or whenever, currently it is not listed on the broadcast schedule.

Congrats on silver Yuzuru!!! I was really nervous at the beginning but as the program went I felt so much calm and peace, he was really floating, I was also confused as hell when he dropped 4T-2T and that ending 3A LOL, lutz couldn't play today

I am dedicating my first post here (after lurking for a long time) to express my respect for Yuzuru. I was near tears watching that performance earlier and despite his setbacks he didn't fail to deliver. This TES despite the pop and missed combo!! Imo his placement is just secondary. (For multiple reasons, like, for example, eg., the judges rewarding a program with almost no TR with 88 PCS.)

I am just so happy right now, it was worth running to uni for a stable internet connection at 6 am just in time to stream the warm up!!

So proud of Yuzu!!!

Exactly, not some minutes after the FS and posters in Youtube are complaining that Japanese fans didn't give standing ovation to Nathan because he had beaten their Hanyu?
I mean in live competitions I have witnessed how supportive Japanese fans are towards all skaters, carrying the flags of all countries with themselves and wave them for different skaters. By the way, how can you distinguish Japanese fans from Korean or Chinese fans from what you see on your screen :scratch3:

Because I'm American I won't be able to escape it :noshake: Nathan Chen reminds me of Tara Lipinski; his strengths and weaknesses are similar to hers. I will always love Yuzu/Michelle more.

This second doesn't concern me, this will make him sore motivated for worlds. Even though he is Yuzu, I feel this is the first time in 3 years he is not the overwhelming favorite. This will take off some pressure, but also make him very hungry to win. I also am still hoping for the fact that he hasn't technically peaked yet... I wouldn't call NHK and GPF peaking and the FS in 4CC was with a back up layout. In the FS he proved that he has stamina now to actually finish the program through and that his 4Lo is pretty stable now. So I'm not worried at all. I don't really wanna bring Nathan into this, but he has had 3 performances back to back where he was pretty good in terms of quads. I feel he peaked at U.S. Nats and here, so worlds will be interesting to see how those 2 will do.

I think with the Biellmann + the knee slide, it might be something. But good for him to take it easy and whatever it is can heal in time for Worlds. Or maybe the Biellmann takes too much energy so gone with it. I'm fine with that although I love it, better that than him nursing an injury.

(I'm super happy and still on a high. That was a lark of a performance. I love seeing fighter Yuzu...)

Nevermind the 4T2T emergency combo, as beautiful as it is, I'm shook at that 3A at the end. That 3A is just lifeeeee!!!!! It's like I'm watching young Romeo Yuzu at World's 2012 again!!! I don't know about you guys but I feel like this lost today is a good thing. Going into the Olympic with everyone 's telling you that you for sure are gonna win sucks. Like that would be an unnecessary extra pressure when competing at the Olympic itself already overwhelmes you. And Yuzuru is at his best when he has someone he could chase. Nathan with his 5 quads would be a good motivation for him. His young Romeo's spark is back and i am so happy!!!

Mann how amazing is that a not so perfect Yuzu still could get 200+ points FP and 300+ points combined. At GPF we have a 95% SP and 80% FP, here we have a 80% SP and 95% FP, then could we have an at leat 95 % for both at World's )^o^(
