Merjan, is Tartu worth a day trip? It looks like you can take the train over early in the morning and come back in the afternoon. And thanks for the above!

Yes, I think Tartu is worth visiting. I've been there 2-3 times but not recently. At least some years ago the bus tickets were cheap, maybe train tickets are, too. It's an old university city and they have a new National Museum there. It's Rahva Muuseum in Estonian. I'd love to go there, I haven't been there yet.

There is a little flag and language on the right top, there you can change language. The brochures are in eleven languages. I think there are printed brochures in the arena, too.

-Yes, Tallinn is good. A nice Finnish city 50 km from Helsinki, 50 minutes by bus, is Porvoo. Visitporvoo.fi
It's lovely in summer and maybe this time,too.
If you want to skate yourself: jaapuisto.fi, it's Ice park in the City center.
Nice and expensive cafes in Helsinki (3) Fazer cafes. www.Fazer.fi ( kahvilat ja leipomot > cafe). I love their chocolates, at Easter they'll have lovely Mignon Easter eggs.
If it's cold, there's a big shopping center in Itäkeskus, 15 min by metro from the centre, itis.fi

Yes I was thinking of visiting Porvoo too but I wasn't sure of the season since a lot of review mentions to visit in Summer.

Remind me to NEVER go skate there, though. I don't think I'd like the world to see me break my legs right in front of that camera. (I'm *terrible* at ice skating; not a single Dutch ice skating gene in me!)
That said, it's lovely watching that stream. It's such good quality, too!

Oh great, thanks! I watched the livestream just now and ppl are still skating in the dark! Must be freezing cold. Sure I'll inform my family back home so that they can save the movie with me skating like a pro in Helsinki! Well, in my country it's end of the season and open air rinks are closing so I hope this one will still be available at the end of March.

Apparently it's really easy: just take any train from Helsinki main train station. They all stop at Pasila (first stop, about 5 minutes by train). From there you can walk to the arena, it's about 10-15 minutes.

I will check the weather forecast before leaving for Helsinki but I would like to know if it's cold there at this time of the year. If yes, then at least I prepare myself mentally for it

I live in Helsinki but it's difficult to say. At weekend it was about - 1 C daytime but - 11 C at night ( on 4-5 March). It could be something like + 5 C at the end of the month but that's just a guess. And the nights can be much colder. And yes, it's often windy, so if it's only - 1 C daytime it could feel like - 6 C with the wind.

I actually think it takes about 5 minutes to walk from the Pasila train station to the arena ( unless there are 10 000 others walking at the same time). Just look at the signs at the station and don't go to the station (building)in Pasila but straight towards the "right" direction to Hartwall Arena. At Pasila station there is Subway (bar/ restaurant) though so if you need some lunch you could go there.

Deadline for entries is 20:00 Finland time, on 6th March ie. in about 4.5 hours. And I guess they don't update the schedules until after that? (when they know exactly how many entries in each discipline, how many practice groups they need etc?)

I guess updated schedules (and the entry lists) will be published tomorrow or within a few days...

I have few question about public transport in Helsinki

1. In few competicion the public transport was free for people who have the competicion tickets. Do you now if it is the case?
2. Someone who lives in Helsinki, is there a weeklly ticket? And where can I buy it?
3. Where can I buy "normal" tickets?
