I pity her (and Liza) a bit for this: despite ALWAYS reaching the result, it's never enough.

I don't get really half of what you implied, but eh. Liza and Carolina are in completely different leagues now, I don't see any comparison between them. Even with a 3A right now it would be hard for Liza to beat Caro.

And how can you not imagine Carolian getting better? Alas, I shouldn't be engaging anyway.

Sorry, P. I was bit in a rush this morning. May I ask: where does the "ranking" you spoke about come from? The higher the ranking, the later you skate? Never heard of it before, hence my cryptic ???

No problem. I didn't speak about rankings earlier but if a skater is ranked higher in the World Standings he/she is allowed to skate in a later group at Worlds in the SP as far as I know. Carolina is ranked 48th at the moment (http://www.isuresults.com/ws/ws/wsladies.htm) because she has no results from the previous two seasons. So she will have to skate pretty early at Worlds in the SP.

She tried it in the FS until 2006 but it has never been her most consistent combo. I remember she stepped out on this at the 2005 WC for sure. I hope she now has the consistency and confidence to complete it cleanly in big competitions

I've been at European Championships a couple of times before but somehow I have never seen Caro in person so far...
I feel very very happy that for the first time, I'll be there to cheer for her in the arena. 12 years ago I wouldn't have thought that she would be still a competitive skater at the age of 30.
I love both of her programs this season, and her exhibition piece is one of the most gorgeous things I have ever seen.
